Lamar Jackson is entering his second season with the Baltimore Ravens as the uncontested starting quarterback. After taking over for Joe Flacco last offseason, the team made the move to trade their veteran quarterback to the Denver Broncos. Now, the team is Jackson's and he will be responsible for their 2019 success.

Last season, the Ravens were led to the playoffs by their rookie quarterback. He showcased an impressive playmaking ability with his legs, but there were still some questions about his arm.

When everything was said and done, Jackson completed 58.2 percent of his pass attempts for 1,201 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also racked up 695 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Those numbers show why the Ravens are so excited to see his development this season.

If he can improve his arm and become a lethal passer, the Ravens are going to have one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league. They also were able to go out and bring in some intriguing weapons for him.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was the best addition for the Ravens in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. His incredible speed will fit nicely with Jackson. The two should be a formidable duo for years to come.

Let's dive in and take a look at the three main goals that Jackson needs to focus on this offseason.

3. Becoming an Even Stronger Leader

First and foremost, the Ravens are going to need their young quarterback to step up as a leader. Flacco may not have been able to put up big numbers, but he was a good leader. It is now up to Jackson to take over the offense and make his teammates better around him.

He showed flashes of leadership ability last season, but in his first full year as a starter he will need to take that to the next level. Jackson certainly has the ability to be a great leader and now it's time to show it.

2. Complete 63 Percent of His Pass Attempts

Next up, the Ravens are going to need Jackson to improve his pass completion percentage. His 58.2 percent mark last season was understandable for a rookie, but it isn't going to get the job done long-term.

There have been quite a few people concerned about Jackson's arm and how it will develop. He has had a full offseason to put in work on that weakness and it will be exciting to see how much he has improved. Baltimore needs Jackson to complete around 63 percent of his pass attempts in 2019.

1. Reach the 3,500 Passing Yard and 25 Passing Touchdown Milestone

Finally, the Ravens are going to need Jackson to beef up his stat line in his second NFL season. He took over in the middle of the season last year, so some of his low stats can be understood due to that fact. This season, however, he will have zero excuses.

Jackson needs to record around 3,500 passing yards and 25 passing touchdowns this season. Those numbers are certainly attainable for a starting NFL quarterback and it would show major development from the Ravens' signal caller.
