Too easy! After the New York Giants 25-3 rout of the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, done without several key players, it's impossible not to wonder where this sudden explosion of elite play has been all season. As New York won without Saquon Barkley, Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay, and Sterling Shepard, with a banged-up Daniel Jones to boot, it was quite the sight to see them dominate what was a respectable Panthers team coming into the game.

The win improved the Giants to 2-5 on the year, which is somehow good for a tie for second place in the NFC East. Both the Eagles and Washington Football Team are also 2-5 and have been playing poorly as of late, which could open the door for New York to have a top-2 finish in the division this year, and by some miracle, maybe even snag a Wild Card spot.

With several of their biggest contributors set to return in the near future and Daniel Jones seemingly starting to get out of the funk he was in during Weeks 5 and 6, this Giants offense could potentially explode alongside what is already a capable defensive unit. Was this game a fluke? Are the Giants for real now? Does it even matter? Here are 3 takeaways from their Week 7 victory to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

1. This New York defense is dangerous

The Giants filled up the stat sheet in all defensive aspects on Sunday, to the extent that they were even able to knock starting quarterback Sam Darnold out of the game and onto the bench, for performance reasons. They racked up 6 sacks (including 2.5 from Azeez Ojulari) and an interception by James Bradberry. This coming out party for Ojulari could be huge moving forward, as he's now got 5.5 sacks on the year and will be a destructive force if he continues to stay hot. It was nice to finally see New York put up a dominant game on defense this season, as they did so with relative regularity in last year's near-division win, and hopefully they can build upon it moving forward.

2. The Giants have one of the deepest receiver corps in football (when healthy)

Without 3 of their top 4 receivers, the Giants were still able to torch Carolina with consistency and without much trouble getting open whatsoever. Even ousted journeyman Dante Pettis was able to work himself to a 5 catch, 39 yard game with a TD snag. Once breakout rookie Kadarius Toney and physical freak Kenny Golladay are back along with the ever-reliable Sterling Shepard, New York will quietly have one of the best groups of receivers in football, and they'll be a nightmare for defenses to cover. As long as Daniel Jones plays well (which, admittedly, is a big question mark), then the Giants offense will be hard to stop.

3. Daniel Jones can do everything

In a highlight reminiscent of a certain former Giants receiver named Beckham, Jones came down with an amazing one-handed catch on Sunday. Along with his efficient, mistake-free passing and his status as the team's leading rusher on the year, it seems like Danny Dimes can really do it all for this offense. It's all a matter of being consistent and having his best weapons healthy.

It'd be a long road to playoff contention for New York, but if they take it one game at a time and get on a roll, something special could happen.
