Not even one full calendar year after giving Clint Capela a five-year, $90 million contract extension, the Houston Rockets might be ready to put their big man on the block.

Following yet another playoff loss at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, the Rockets seem ready to come to terms with the fact that they just don't have enough to seriously contend for a title, and general manager Daryl Morey is rumored to be making his roster available for trade.

With a James Harden deal seeming very unlikely, that makes Chris Paul and Capela the principal candidates to get traded, and even though Capela is set to make big money over the next several years, he will surely have some suitors.

Here are three ideal trade destinations for Clint Capela.

3. Atlanta Hawks

Hawks, Trae Young

Hear me out on this one for a second.

The Hawks are a young, up and coming team that has quite a few nice pieces. Trae Young had a terrific rookie campaign, and John Collins is a very solid young big.

But one thing Atlanta is sorely lacking is a rim protector up front, and Capela, who is also young at just 25 years old, would provide that.

A nucleus of Young, Collins and Capela would certainly be an interesting one for the Hawks to build around, and the pick-and-roll duo of Young and Capela would have the potential to be brilliant.

Capela is also under contract through 2023, so Atlanta would not have to worry about losing him to free agency.

2. San Antonio Spurs

One of the key pieces the Spurs got back in the Kawhi Leonard deal last summer was young center Jakob Poeltl, but you would have to think San Antonio would be open to adding a bona fide rim protector like Capela to its roster.

A frontline of Capela and LaMarcus Aldridge would be terrific on both ends of the floor, as it would give the Spurs adequate rim protection and great offensive versatility, as Capela would represent a great pick-and-roll partner for San Antonio's guards in addition to what Aldridge can do.

The Spurs have a whole lot of young talent they can trade back to the Rockets in a potential deal, with Poeltl and guards like Derrick White, Bryn Forbes, Dejounte Murray and Lonnie Walker.

Capela seems like a pretty natural fit in San Antonio.

1. Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers desperately wanted a rim-protecting big this past year, which was why they signed JaVale McGee last summer and then picked up Tyson Chandler off the scrap heap early in the season.

But the Lakers would surely want a young big man for the long haul, and Capela fits that mold.

We also know how much LeBron James loves bigs that can move and finish at the rim, which is why he enjoyed playing with guys like Tristan Thompson and Larry Nance Jr. in Cleveland so much.

Capela and James would work very similar to the way Capela and Harden do, as they would comprise a lethal pick-and-roll duo.

Of course, Los Angeles would also need to add some shooters for spacing, but Capela would definitely be a nice addition, especially if the Lakers can't land any really big names in free agency.
