The Cincinnati Bengals Super Bowl loss to the Los Angeles Rams was a brutal blow for the franchise. Even so, Cincinnati should feel proud of what they accomplished this year. They played their hearts out and the team now faces the offseason. We take a look at this Bengals-Rams game with some of our Bengals Super Bowl takeaways in mind.

Cincinnati's defense became a pleasant surprise throughout the playoff run. They consistently got after the quarterback and forced multiple turnovers. That carried over into the Super Bowl, as the Bengals' defense kept them in the game all evening. Look for this unit to maintain their dominant play next year.

Offensively, there is a ton to be excited about for the Bengals. Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase already have a special connection that began back in their college days. However, there is one glaring weakness and that is the offensive line. We'll see how the offseason plays out, but the front office must address this issue.

With that said, here are three Bengals Super Bowl takeaways from their heartbreaking loss to the Rams.

Bengals Super Bowl Takeaways

3. Bengals defense is the real deal

At first, it just looked like a hot run, but after watching the Bengals play so well against the Rams, there has to be more to it. Cincinnati forced turnovers, bothered Matthew Stafford, and prevented LA's run game from controlling the clock. They even made a brilliant red zone stop late in the fourth quarter that was taken away by a horrible penalty call (where have we heard that before?).

At the end of the day, the Bengals' defense proved to be a reliable group. They'll need to upgrade the secondary a bit, but this defensive unit should be viewed as a legitimate threat. This is the perfect compliment for a high-powered offense and we should see Cincinnati be one of the best team's in the league next year.

2. Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase are going to take the league by storm

Although they're young, Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase are proving to be a dangerous duo. They've been on fire all year and that continued into the Super Bowl. As long as these two are together the Bengals should be in good hands. Their future is bright and the crazy part is, they're just getting started.

It's insane to think that these two will get better, but they will. Joe Burrow will develop as a quarterback while Ja'Marr Chase will do the same as a receiver. The potential for these two is through the roof and we could be looking at one of the best duos in league history. They just have to go out there, play their game, and make it happen.

1. Bengals must address the offensive line in the offseason

The offensive line has been an issue all season. Joe Burrow was sacked an astronomical amount of times and still somehow managed to make a Super Bowl run. Burrow fell to an injury scare late in the game after getting sacked. On top of that, the Bengals lost the game after Aaron Donald exploded through the offensive line for the game-clinching play.

Improving the offensive line will be at the top of the priority list for the Bengals. The rest of the roster is nearly set for the most part. It should be a fun offseason for this franchise, as they were just a few key pieces away from winning Super Bowl 56.
