The Chicago Bears were one of the better teams in the NFL in 2018. They went 12-4 and won the NFC North. A quick bounce from the playoffs wasn't enough to deter the optimism. They were a young team, very much on the rise.

That took a major step backwards in 2019 though. The Bears went 8-8 and a lot of things went wrong.

While the defense was still good, it wasn't as elite as the year before. Quarterback Mitchell Trubsiky too a serious step back as well. And the offense ran into quite a few problems outside of him as well.

So what does Chicago need to do to get back on track? Here are three moves the Bears must make this offseason.

Get Another Quarterback

I'm not saying replace Trubisky. However, it wouldn't be bad to have another option. Especially because when Trubisky got hurt, the Bears found themselves in a miserable spot.

This was a team that was struggling with Trubisky at quarterback. Suddenly, they had Chase Daniel there.

They need a better veteran or an exciting young player there. That way, if something happens to QB1, they have someone who can step in and energize the team. Also, if Trubisky's struggles continue, someone they would feel confident replacing him with.

Get Another Weapon

The quarterback play can't be solely to blame. Trubisky had his issues, but so did his weapons. Tarik Cohen and David Montgomery both had long rough patches at running back. They'll be fine though, that's a great duo in the long run.

However, it's the receivers and tight ends that could use some work. Allen Robinson was great. After that though, not much.

Anthony Miller looks solid. Taylor Gabriel has elite speed, but isn't exactly a safe target, and that's what Trubisky needs more of.

Tight end is where they need to really look. Another receiver would help, but the easiest spot to upgrade is tight end. Getting someone who can go across the middle and be a reliable target is needed. He can be the check down man, and get Trubisky those easy, confidence building completions.

Offensive Line Depth

That's right, we're going three for three on offense. Like I said, the Chicago defense might not have been as elite in 2019, but it was far from the problem.

Chicago's offensive line is nothing to write home about. They gave up 45 sacks in 2019, which wasn't the worst, but it wasn't good either. It was right about in the middle.

So an upgrade there would greatly help Trubisky and the running game. Not just an upgrade though, they need depth. Chicago had Ted Larsen and Corey Levin listed as the second and third string centers, and right guards.

They need to add some depth so that if an injury occurs, they aren't looking to pick someone else up off the street.
