There are  records that may be broken in the 2019 season. Here are three NFL records that could have a new record-holder in 2019:

3. Yards from Scrimmage

The current record for yards from scrimmage is held by Chris Johnson of the Tennesee Titans. Johnson amassed 2,509 yards in  2009.

It was an unforgettable showing from “CJ2K” who rushed for 2,006 yards with an average of 5.6 yards per carry. The dynamic running back also tacked on 503 yards through the air.

There are a couple of players who have the potential to give Johnson a run for his money. Just last season, there were two running backs who eclipsed 2,000+ yards from scrimmage. Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliott could threaten Johnson's mark. Barkley had an impressive rookie season and Elliott continues to show his consistency in the backfield.

2. Passing Touchdowns

In 2018, we saw a magnificent display of quarterback play from Patrick Mahomes. His no-look passes and deep throws took the NFL by storm en route to his first MVP season (of likely many).

The Chiefs' second-year quarterback threw for 50 touchdowns, tying Tom Brady for the second-most in NFL history. Of course, the record is currently held by Peyton Manning who wowed fans by throwing 55 touchdowns in 2013.

What made Manning's season even more impressive, was the fact that it was his second season after receiving neck surgery. That didn't matter as “The Sheriff” also had 5,477 yards to go with his 55 touchdowns.

In today's pass-happy league, teams are throwing it more than ever. Quarterbacks like Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, and Patrick Mahomes could come within striking distance of the record in 2019.

1. Passing Yards

As mentioned before, Peyton Manning threw for an absurd 5,477 yards in 2013. Along with his 55 touchdowns being the single-season record, he also holds the record for most passing yards in a season.

When Manning surpassed Drew Brees for the passing yards record,  did so by beating Brees by a single yard. The New Orleans Saints signal caller will want to one-up Manning by securing the record once again.

In 2018, we had three quarterbacks who were able to pass for over 4,900 yards. Those quarterbacks were Ben Roethlisberger, Mahomes, and Matt Ryan.

Those players along with Rodgers, Brees, and Phillip Rivers could have seasons that put them in the same territory as Manning's 2013 season. After all, there were six teams who attempted more than 600 passes in 2018—leaving ample opportunities to get endless passing yards.
