The Chicago Bulls have been playing some excellent basketball so far this season. Many people felt that they were going to be a good team this year, but not many people expected them to be the second-best team in the Eastern Conference standings through the first 20-plus games of the season.

The front office did a great job during the offseason to bring in some players who made an immediate impact for this Bulls team. DeMar DeRozan has been sensational this season as he leads the team in scoring at 26.3 points per game and is fourth in the NBA in points per game. The additions of Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, and the mid-season pick up last year of Nikola Vucevic have really panned out for this Bulls organization.

There are still areas that they can improve on at the Trade Deadline. They could use a scorer off the bench who can run the second unit and possibly even add some more depth to their bench. Chicago can also potentially use a starting forward or somebody who can guard the one through five position. Chicago already has a few talented defenders but they do lack some size in their starting lineup so they might go after somebody who can defend well and fill that three or four position.

They have some guys that they could possibly put in a trade package such as Coby White, Patrick Williams, and potentially even Derrick Jones Jr. Let's take a look at three guys the Bulls should be interested in during the Trade Deadline.

Players The Bulls Should Target At The Trade Deadline

3. Robert Covington

This is going to be a name that is brought up a lot during the trade deadline. Robert Covington can defend at a high level from 1-5 on the court and can also stretch the floor at a high level. This is exactly what the Bulls could use as they can have somebody who comes in and defends the three and four position and also knocks down shots that Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, and Zach LaVine or going to create.

The Portland Trailblazers are having some troubles once again this season and they might look to rebrand the organization and potentially get rid of some guys who have been there for a few seasons.

2. Thaddeus Young

Thaddeus Young had an impressive season a year ago with the Chicago Bulls but was traded in the big sign-and-trade deal that landed DeMar DeRozan. It would be another great addition to this Bulls team as he is another guy who can defend and give them versatility on the defensive side of the ball. Young wouldn't be a guy who would start on this team, but he could be somebody who can come in and give 10 to 15 minutes a night guarding the team's best player, get stops, and make it hard on the guys he is defending.

However, while Chicago would love to have Young back, there are some hurdles. The Bulls can't trade for him with the Spurs, and so Young needs to go to another team first before he can be traded to the Bulls or bought out and sign with them.

1. Myles Turner

Turner is going to be another one who is going to be a big name at the trade deadline. The Indiana Pacers are not playing anywhere near to the ability that they should be playing so they might look to sell at the break. He can also come in and defend at the highest level and even potentially play the four if the Bulls decided to go big.

Myles Turner would not hurt the Bulls offense as he can shoot the three-ball with the best of them as a center. What he brings on the defensive side of things is something that the Bulls are going to look for at the trade deadline as he can be someone who could potentially make it hard on Giannis Antetokounmpo in the playoffs.

As crazy as some people might think it sounds, the Chicago Bulls do have a chance to win an NBA title. In the NBA you need two guys who can carry a team, DeRozan and LaVine are two of the best scorers in the NBA and can take over any game at any given moment. It's definitely not going to be an easy task as the Eastern Conference is arguably the best that it's been in the past decade. Beating the Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo as well as Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets is not going to be an easy task for this Chicago Bulls team. If they want to win an NBA title, they should definitely go out and get somebody who can defend at a high level and also somebody who could potentially lead the second unit and help them put some points on the board.
