The Denver Nuggets are going to have to make some tough decisions at the NBA trade deadline. Their injuries this year have definitely handcuffed them a bit as they are certainly not in the position that they were hoping for and have obviously not played as well as they imagined due to their unfortunate injuries.

Fortunately for the Nuggets, they have still managed to hold the number five seed in the Western Conference despite dealing with all of their injuries.

They should get Jamal Murray back at some point and if he can return to what he was before his injury, they could decide to get rid of some guys who have been playing better than they ever have. They aren't going to have many pieces that they could necessarily move, but they do have some guys who are playing well this year in all these guys' absences due to injuries, which could help them out in terms of getting a deal done.

Let's take a look at three guys The Nuggets might think about trading if they are going to go out and try to get a replacement for Michael Porter Jr while he is down so they can continue contending for an NBA title with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

Nuggets NBA trade deadline

3. Monte Morris

Monte Morris is going to be an interesting name because the Nuggets do have to factor in that they will get Murray back at some point this year. Morris has actually been playing very well this season and has definitely stepped up big-time for the Nuggets with all the injuries that they have had. He is currently averaging 12.6 points per game and he's also shooting 38% from 3-point range.

The reason that the Nuggets could think about trading him is that once Jamal Murray comes back, he is going to go into a bench position and his usage is going to be down.

Trading this kid wouldn't necessarily be the smartest thing from the Nuggets' perspective unless they do feel that they can compete with the best of the other teams in the Western Conference once Murray gets back.

Factor in that many contending teams are also going to be looking for a backup point guard, and it makes a lot of sense why they would think about getting rid of him. If Murray is going to be able to come back by the end of the year and the Nuggets feel like he's going to be 100% healthy for the playoffs, they should think about moving him so they can pick up another piece as Michael Porter Jr. will probably not be playing for the remainder of the year.

Monte Morris is definitely going to be a name that could potentially come up in trade talks, but Denver might decide to keep him because of how well he has played this year. On the flip side of that, they could decide to trade high and it would make a lot of sense from their perspective because he has certainly played better than he has throughout his career this season. It could be the right time to get rid of him if they do get back a favorable return.

2. P.J. Dozier

It's not going to be easy trading a guy like PJ Dozier because he did suffer an ACL tear and obviously many teams aren't going to want to bring in somebody who is going to come off that injury. With how young he is, and some of the promising minutes that he has shown throughout his young career, some teams could be intrigued by him.

Even if the Nuggets can get back a second-round pick or two of them, they should think about trading him because even when he is going to come back, he doesn't necessarily have too much of a spot as the Nuggets are going to be healthier and have some more depth at the guard positions.

1. Bol Bol

Bol Bol is a strange name and honestly, it doesn't make much sense why he is still on this Nuggets team. He's definitely a fan favorite and a lot of people out there in Denver do love this kid. He hasn't performed to anything of what the Nuggets expected or wanted out of him. Bol hardly plays for this team as he's only averaging 5.9 minutes per night and he's only appeared in 13 games. In those short minutes, he isn't doing much on the court as he's only averaging 2.4 points per game and 1.5 rebounds.

The Nuggets could decide to get rid of him and they could get back a decent return for him with somebody who could fill a better role. There are many teams out there who are in a rebuild process and definitely wouldn't mind having a 7-foot 2-inch center.

Denver could decide to get rid of him but he isn't going to get back a big return and it would only be for another piece that they feel can come in and make an immediate impact while Bol Bol goes somewhere else and develops his game a little bit more for a team who has time to wait.
