The New York Jets are fresh off of an embarrassing loss on Monday Night Football against the Cleveland Browns. Not only did they lose Sam Darnold for a few weeks, they also saw backup quarterback Trevor Siemian go down for the season with an ankle injury. That means that Luke Falk will be starting at quarterback for the Jets in Week 3 against the New England Patriots.

That's right, the Jets are going to be going with a guy who hasn't started a single NFL game against arguably the best team in the NFL.

Tom Brady and company are favored by a wide margin, and rightfully so. New York likely doesn't stand a chance in this game, but crazier things have happened in NFL history.

All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at three players who must step up for the Jets this week.

3. Trumaine Johnson, Cornerback

Let's just start this off by saying that this one only becomes a factor if the Jets actually put Johnson on the field. He was not played in Week 2 against the Browns and it has become clear that things aren't going smoothly between the two parties.

Against the Patriots, however, the Jets need him on the field. He is one of the only talented cornerbacks on the roster that has a chance to make an impact. With Antonio Brown, Josh Gordon, and Julian Edelman on the other side of the field, Johnson will need to play and play well this week.

2. Luke Falk, Quarterback

Of course, we have to add the young quarterback to this list. Luke Falk is going to be walking into a situation that likely won't end up going well. New England destroyed the Miami Dolphins' offense last week and they are going to have a good chance of doing the same this week.

Falk didn't look great against the Browns. He doesn't have much experience, but he needs to take what the defense gives him and take care of the football this week. If he doesn't, this game will be a 20-point or more blowout.

1. Le'Veon Bell, Running Back

New York paid big money to Le'Veon Bell in free agency this offseason and he has not put up huge numbers yet. Against a New England defense who will be all over Falk, Bell needs to find a way to come up with big numbers.

The Patriots have a solid defense, but Bell should be able to have a good game. He's going to be a workhorse on the ground, but his biggest impact could come as a receiver out of the backfield. Falk is going to need to check down a lot and that bodes well for big numbers for Bell.
