The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off of a 2018 campaign in which they won 12 games, captured the AFC West division title and made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game, but they have their sights set on bigger goals in 2019.

With an MVP quarterback in Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs are hoping to get over the hump and win the Super Bowl this coming season, but even Kansas City has some question marks going into 2019.

The Chiefs still don't know what is going on with Tyreek Hill, and the running game is up in the air now that Kareem Hunt is no longer in tow.

Kansas City may have to sort some of these issues out in training camp, which should open up opportunities for other players on the roster.

So, here are the three Chiefs players with the most to gain in training camp:

3. Damien Wilson

The Chiefs parted ways with Justin Houston earlier this offseason, leaving a rather big gap on their defense. While it will be extraordinarily difficult for any one player to fill that hole, one new player stepping in will be linebacker Damien Wilson.

Wilson spent the first four years of his career with the Dallas Cowboys and registered 37 tackles in 2018. He has never really had a full-time role before, and this season will provide that chance for him.

Of course, given his inexperience, it is no guarantee that Wilson will be a starter for Kansas City, so he is going to need to prove himself in training camp.

An impressive summer would greatly benefit Wilson in not only building confidence for himself, but gaining trust from Andy Reid and the coaching staff.

2. Mecole Hardman

Some are dubbing him Tyreek 2.0, but the fact of the matter is that Mecole Hardman is just a talented rookie with a whole lot to prove.

The Chiefs picked up Hardman in the second round of the draft, and given Hill's unresolved status, Hardman may very well have to end up stepping up and playing a huge role in the offense right off the bat.

Naturally, Kansas City is not just going to hand Hardman a job; he is going to have to show he is capable of being a significant cog in the offense, and while he is certainly talented, he does not exactly have much of a track record, as his most productive collegiate season at Georgia came this past year when he caught a modest 35 passes for 543 yards and seven touchdowns.

Hardman could end up being a crucial piece, but he needs to prove his worth first.

1. Damien Williams

It's not like the Chiefs just lost Hunt; they released him after 11 games in 2018 due to a domestic violence incident. However, there is a major difference between playing the final few games of a season without Hunt and playing an entire year without him.

Damien Williams rushed for 256 yards and four touchdowns in 2018 and then had a very strong showing against the Colts in the Divisional Round, racking up 129 yards and a score.

But up until this past year, Williams had never even totaled 200 yards in a single season. As a matter of fact, through five years in the NFL, Williams has accumulated just 733 yards on the ground.

So, regardless of what he did in the playoffs or the Chiefs' system, Williams is a big-time question mark for Kansas City heading into 2019, and having a strong training camp and being more accustomed to being the lead back will be key for him.
