Talk about having a come up. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went from being a 7-9 team in 2019 to a Super Bowl contender after signing Tom Brady to replace Jameis Winston under center.

Besides Brady, Tampa Bay was also able to land Rob Gronkowski in a trade, giving Brady a familiar target in a loaded offense. Not to mention, the Buccaneers strengthened their offensive line by adding Tristan Wirfs with the No. 13 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

While Tampa Bay is suddenly being viewed as contenders in 2020, some players will need to step into vital roles on both sides of the ball. With that in mind, let's take a look at three potential breakout players for the Buccaneers in the 2020 NFL season.

Justin Evans

Three years ago, the Buccaneers selected Justin Evans in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, the Texas A&M product was able to record 66 tackles and three interceptions. Then, he would proceed to tally 59 tackles and one interception in 2018.

However, just this past season, Evans was placed on injured reserve after undergoing foot surgery— causing him to miss the entire year. It is the third consecutive season that Evans has been placed on injured reserve by the Buccaneers.

Nonetheless, the former second-round pick has a chance to prove himself once again in 2020. As he enters the final year of his rookie contract, Evans — if he remains healthy — could be in for the best season of his career in 2020.

Sean Murphy-Bunting

On the surface, the Buccaneers had one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL last season. Tampa Bay finished with the 30th-ranked pass defense, allowing a whopping 270.1 yards per game through the air.

While the secondary didn't play well as a collective, Sean Murphy-Bunting was a bright spot for the defense. Murphy-Bunting was Tampa Bay's second-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, starting in 10 games as a rookie.

Over the course of his first season with the Buccaneers, Murphy-Bunting accounted for eight pass breakups, three interceptions, and a forced fumble. With Brady bringing more attention to Tampa Bay, maybe Murphy-Bunting can put his name on the map in 2020.

Ronald Jones

Since Brady's arrival in Tampa Bay, everyone has been enamored with how it affects the team's offensive skill players. Of course, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and the three tight ends that the Buccaneers have at their disposal are all going to contribute to the aerial attack.

At the same time, Ronald Jones figures to be the featured back for Tampa Bay next season. Seeing how Brady has utilized his running backs over the years, Jones is poised to have a breakout year in 2020.

Despite sharing touches with Peyton Barber last season, Jones accumulated 1,033 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns. Now, with Brady as his quarterback and having a firm grasp on the No. 1 spot at running back, Jones could be in for a stellar season.
