The Denver Broncos will be entering training camp with a rather solid roster. The front office improved the offensive line, the Broncos receiving and tight end core are solid, and the defense is near an elite level. The only uncertainty in Denver is the quarterback position, as there is a position battle between Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater.

The Broncos have been linked to a few players in the rumor mill, but they haven't pulled the trigger. We'll see what happens though, as anything can happen between now and the start of the 2021 season. This roster is close to being a playoff contender and a trade or two could be just the trick.

Look for Denver to be involved in a few trade rumors, as the front office may want to bring in elite-level talent to compete with the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. With that said, here are three trade candidates for the Denver Broncos heading into training camp.

Aaron Rodgers

The Aaron Rodgers trade rumors have died down quite a bit, but there is still a chance a deal comes to fruition. The Broncos are still listed as the favorite to land Rodgers if the Green Bay Packers choose to trade their superstar quarterback. Green Bay would likely receive a haul of draft picks while allowing their young quarterback Jordan Love to take over as the starter.

The Broncos would immediately become a playoff contender if they somehow land Aaron Rodgers via trade. Denver's offense is loaded with talented pass catchers, as we'd likely see career years for Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and Noah Fant. The Broncos would challenge the Chiefs for the number one spot in the AFC West with Rodgers under center.

Xavien Howard

Another route to go would be to trade for Xavien Howard. Denver has a solid secondary right now, but trading for Howard gives the Broncos an elite group. It'd be difficult to throw against a secondary consisting of Xavien Howard, Kyle Fuller, Justin Simons, and Patrick Surtain.

Not to mention, Denver's front seven is incredibly dangerous as well. With Von Miller and Bradley Chubb leading the way, the Broncos' pass rush and rush defense would go nicely with an elite secondary group. Denver would arguably become the best defense in the league by acquiring Howard.

Stephon Gilmore

Another top cornerback the Broncos could target is Stephon Gilmore. Although trade rumors have quieted down, the New England Patriots haven't budged on Gilmore's request for a new contract. Trading him away might make sense, as the Patriots are a middle-of-the-pack team that could benefit from gaining draft capital.

Gilmore had a down year in 2020, but he's still recognized as an elite cornerback in the NFL. Similar to Howard, Gilmore would elevate the Broncos' defense to an even higher level. Denver would suddenly have the defense to counteract some of the best offenses they'll face. Look for the Denver Broncos to emerge as a trade destination for multiple trade rumors, as this franchise is close to becoming a playoff team once again.
