The Las Vegas Raiders were unable to come away with a much-needed win in Week 13 as they lost to the Washington Football Team, 17-15, and fall to 6-6 on the season.

With this loss, the Raiders have lost four of their last five games and have almost taken themselves out of playoff contention. At the beginning of the season, it looked as if they were one of the better teams in the NFL, but the past few weeks have been nothing short of a disappointment for Las Vegas. They have had to deal with some tough situations this year including the Henry Ruggs incident and the Jon Gruden situation.

There's no excuse for the Raiders to be losing to a team like the Washington Football Team, but their offense just simply couldn't get anything going.

Let's take a look at some takeaways from the Raiders-Washington Football Team Week 13 game.

Raiders Week 13 takeaways

3. The offense is too inconsistent

There are weeks where the Raiders' offense looks like one of the best in football. The issue is, they're never consistent and it has made them lose games that they should have won. This was another example here in Week 13 as they only were able to put up 15 points against a 5-6 team. The Washington Football Team does have an elite defense, but there's no excuse with the weapons that the Raiders have to only score 15 points. Derek Carr has been one of the best quarterbacks in all of football this season, but he has to be better and at least get his team into the end zone twice in a game. There's no excuse for the Raiders only scoring 15 points against a team that they should have been able to beat with ease.

If they want to have any success for the remainder of the season and somehow sneak into the playoffs, the offense needs to be more consistent, and that all starts with Derek Carr.

2. Playoffs are probably out of reach

At this point, it's going to be tough for the Raiders to sneak in the playoffs. They didn't take care of business in games that they needed to and they allowed the Kansas City Chiefs to get back on track and take over at the AFC West. With the way that Kansas City was playing early on in the season, it was the perfect opportunity for the Raiders to finally win this division.

They have some tough games coming up including the Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts, and the Los Angeles Chargers in three of their five remaining games. They certainly have the talent to take care of business against all five of their next opponents, but if anything has shown in the past few weeks, it's that they don't beat teams that they can.

1. After everything happened, the season went down the drain

After everything that happened with Henry Ruggs and Jon Gruden, the Raiders have not played good football. This is definitely something that makes sense as going through this as a team and players having to deal with the stress that came with both situations is certainly warranted. It was a tough situation in Las Vegas for most of the year, but at some point, they're going to have to move on and get back to playing football the way that they know they can.
