The Los Angeles Rams Week 13 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars was the exact type of performance they needed. This franchise hit a rough patch recently but was able to get one back in the win column on Sunday. We take a look at this Rams-Jaguars game with some of our Rams Week 13 takeaways in mind.

Jacksonville couldn't get anything going on offense as the Rams' defense dominated throughout. That's the level of play this team needs if they hope to remain relevant in the playoff race. This win gave LA the momentum they needed to finish the year strong.

Offensively, Los Angeles seems to have everything you'd want to be a contender. Although Darrell Henderson didn't play, Sony Michel filled the starting role nicely. Additionally, the passing attack looked much better with Matthew Stafford playing confidently in the pocket. Lastly, it's time to acknowledge Cooper Kupp as being one of the best receivers in the league. With that said, here are three Rams Week 13 takeaways from their big win against the Jaguars.

Rams Week 13 Takeaways

3. LA has a plethora of talented running backs

No Cam Akers, no problem. No Darrell Henderson, no problem. Sony Michel stepped up when the Rams needed him most. He finished the day with 24 attempts for 121 yards and one touchdown. It was an incredible performance, as Michel proved he still has what it takes to be a legitimate running back in the NFL.

As long as the Rams have this type of production out of the backfield they should have no problem keeping up with the rest of the NFC. Darrell Henderson is likely to come back soon, which means LA will have two strong running backs on the roster. A solid one-two punch in the backfield could be the difference-maker for their Super Bowl hopes.

2. Matthew Stafford got back in his groove

Matthew Stafford went through a rough stretch of games but bounced back in a big way against the Jaguars. The Rams quarterback ended the contest with 295 passing yards and three touchdowns. He also spread the ball around hitting seven different teammates on the day.

He did go up against a weak Jaguars secondary, but this was the type of game Stafford needed. This type of performance will build up his confidence, which is essential at this time of the year. Look for Stafford and the Rams to build off this big win as they aim for a spot on the playoffs.

1. Cooper Kupp is the real deal

Los Angeles has one of the most electric offenses in the league right now and most of that can be attributed to Cooper Kupp. He's the first receiver this season to record 100 receptions, while also leading the league in receiving yards (1,366) and touchdowns (11). The last receiver we saw end the season leading in all three categories was Calvin Johnson when Matthew Stafford was his quarterback for the Detroit Lions.

Kupp has been phenomenal for the Rams this year and doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. He's clearly Stafford's favorite target, which bodes well for his longevity. We'll see if Los Angeles can make a deep run in the postseason, but the team should feel confident with the way Cooper Kupp is playing.
