The Baltimore Ravens had a wild game against the Minnesota Vikings and found a way to win. It was impressive, as this team had to fight throughout the entire matchup just to stay within reach. We'll be looking over this Ravens-Vikings game with some of our Ravens Week 9 takeaways in mind.

Defensively, the Ravens didn't quite look like themselves. They allowed a mediocre Vikings team to march up and down the field throughout most of the game. Even so, Baltimore buckled down when it mattered most. This is part of the reason why many people should respect the Ravens and view them as a legitimate threat in the AFC.

It was difficult for Baltimore to move the ball but the team figured it out eventually. The run game was on full display which played a huge role in the team's success. However, all eyes should be on Rashod Bateman moving forward, as he's slowly but surely becoming the favorite pass option. Additionally, Lamar Jackson is carrying his team through the season right now. With that said, here are three Ravens Week 9 takeaways from their game against the Vikings.

Ravens Week 9 Takeaways

3. Ravens prove they're legit contenders with miraculous comeback win

Everything about this game should have led to the Vikings winning, but it didn't. Minnesota played a fantastic game. They didn't turn the ball over, their players made huge plays, and the offensive line didn't allow Kirk Cousins to get sacked. Even the stat sheet would suggest the Ravens should have lost. However, they found a way to win and that's all that matters.

For that reason, it's time to give Baltimore the respect they deserve. Despite losing JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards for the season, the Ravens have found a way to keep their run game relevant. The passing attack has vastly improved, as Marquise Brown, Mark Andrews, and Rashod Bateman are playing at a high level. Lastly, the defense makes stops when the team needs it the most. Look out for the Ravens, as they're just getting started.

2. Rashod Bateman will slowly take over as the top receiver in Baltimore

The rookie prospect had a solid outing, putting up 52 receiving yards off of five catches. Rashod Bateman didn't record a touchdown, but he played a vital role in the team's big win over the Vikings. Marquise Brown ended the day as the top target with 116 receiving yards and nine receptions. Even so, Bateman's potential cannot be ignored as he seems destined to become the top wideout in Baltimore.

He had to heal from an injury early on in the season and many believed Bateman would be worked slowly into the offense. Instead, he's made an immediate impact, working as a top-two pass option from the get-go. Rashod Bateman has all of the tools necessary to become an elite wide receiver in this league and it's scary to think this kid will get better.

1. Lamar Jackson carried his team to this win, despite struggling in the passing game

Lamar Jackson has been lights out this year. However, he struggled a bit in the passing game which hurt the Ravens throughout the first half. Even so, Jackson found a way to lead his team to victory, despite not playing at his best.

Jackson is the heart of this team. Even though he wasn't playing like a top-tier quarterback against the Vikings, he still managed to find a way to win. His three passing touchdowns and 120 rushing yards were exactly what Baltimore needed to stay relevant throughout this matchup. Keep an eye on the Ravens, as Lamar Jackson will likely continue leading his team throughout the rest of the season.
