Anyone would never say no to a great deal that has almost zero risks attached to it. Card collectors, in particular, are always on the lookout for this kind of transaction. But two guys who don’t attract a lot of demand these days are actually those who have a lot of upside to them: Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
The memory of the Los Angeles Clippers’ massive meltdown against the Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets is still fresh among fans. George’s controversial statements against Doc Rivers also don’t help mitigate the hate he and Leonard get. But while most people choose to focus on the negative side of things, the pair’s impressive performance is slowly dripping down to their card value. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are the best pair of wings in the league
Having a talented wing on your roster, one who can get buckets at any spot while providing quality defense, is a must for an NBA team. The Los Angeles Lakers have LeBron James, the greatest player of his generation, while the Nuggets obtained Aaron Gordon to be their premier forward. In the Eastern Conference, you’ve got Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jimmy Butler, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Ben Simmons, among others.

While the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks boast their own impressive wing duo, they just don't match up with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George because of all the things they can do on both ends of the court.
If this is hard to believe, just take a look at the pair’s numbers. George has been putting up terrific stats this season by averaging 23.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.2 steals in 33.6 minutes per game. Leonard, meanwhile, is not too shabby himself with 25.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.7 steals in 34.4 minutes per contest. They are also shooting above 48% from the field and 39% from 3, making them incredibly efficient with the ball in their hands.
Even with all the antagonism directed at these two players, it’s pretty hard to bet against Leonard and George when they’re healthy and locked in. Of course, nothing is set in stone and the true measure of this pair will be tested in the coming months.
The Clippers are coming together at the right time
As of now, the Clippers are third in the West with a 42-19 record. The Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns are ahead of them, with the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers right behind. With the playoffs about to start soon, they have little room to commit any error. Fortunately, there are several factors in their favor.
For one, the Clippers boast an offense that’s ranked first among all NBA teams in efficiency. They’re currently hitting 48.5% from the field, 42.0% from beyond the arc, and 83.4% from the line. These numbers amount to a team average of 115.0 points scored per game, which is ranked sixth in the league.
LA's lineup is also fine-tuned to the strengths of its main stars in George and Leonard. The talents of Rajon Rondo, Patrick Beverley, Luke Kennard, Nicolas Batum, Marcus Morris, Serge Ibaka, and Ivica Zubac, among others, come together in ideal unison to achieve a team that’s firing on all cylinders lately. If they continue to build their chemistry on the court, this squad will surely have enough firepower to take on title contenders in both conferences.
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are really undervalued
Investing in NBA cards means there will be a lot of circumstances when buying low is the way to go. If done properly, you’ll get to sell high at the right time to maximize your profits down the line. In this regard, Leonard and George are some of the best buy-low players right now.
The Klaw’s PSA 10 Prizm rookie card is valued at $2,200 on eBay right now, which a far cry from its $3,500 price tag when February started. George, on the other hand, has already increased. PSA 10 copies of his first Prizm card sold for $315 at the end of January and are now priced at $430, which is still more affordable than other players right now.
The potential of a deep playoff run and their recent hot streak can be great catalysts that will drive the stock of these two stars. And with the low demand for both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George rookie cards, there’s no reason not to hoard more of their stock.
