Kirk Cousins gets a lot of heat for his play, but a lot of times when the Minnesota Vikings did struggle during the 2019 season, it wasn't his fault. There are some people who are are giving up on Cousins, but he is still the right guy to lead the Vikings to the promised land. Cousins has been underappreciated all the way back to his high school days, and he has continued to prove people wrong.

Let's break down three reasons Cousins can lead the Vikings to a Super Bowl.

3. Supporting Cast

The Vikings have put a good supporting cast around Cousins (besides the offensive line). The running game led by Dalvin Cook is one of the best in football.

Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen are an elite one-two punch outside that is hard for the rest of the league to cover. Those guys make life really easy on Cousins to have success.

2. He plays well at home and has proven he can win big games on the road

The knock on Cousins during the 2019 season was his inability to win the game big game on the road. People still seem to have that narrative, but they aren't looking at the facts.

Cousins went down to Dallas on Monday Night Football and won a big game. He went to Seattle and almost made an epic comeback, and if he would have received any help from the defense, he would have won that game.

People also seem to forget he went on the road during Wild Card weekend and helped pull off a big upset against the Saints. They ran into a buzzsaw the next week against the 49ers, but with some improvements this offseason, next year maybe they can win that game.

1. He actually was somewhat successful under pressure, and the offensive line play can't get much worse next year

According to playerprofiler.com, Cousins completed 40.6 percent of his passes when under pressure, which was eighth-best in football.

Cousins was under a pressure a lot, and the Vikings know they need to add a lot of assets to give Cousins a clean pocket next year. When Cousins has time to throw and is confident, he makes a lot of unbelievable throws, but he doesn't get the attention because of the stigma surronding his name.

If the Vikings improve the offensive line this offseason, the rest of the league could be in trouble, because Cousins is a good quarterback.
