LeSean McCoy spent the 2019 season with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, he seemed to fall out of favor, and did not even play in the Super Bowl. Hello, Philadelphia Eagles?

Now he's a free agent, and it's extremely difficult to imagine him returning to Kansas City.

So LeSean McCoy is going to be looking for a new team. And he's actually coming off a rather productive season. However, he will be 32 by the start of 2020 season. And his options might not be as wildly open as you'd expect. One team that might be in on McCoy is one of his former teams, the Philadelphia Eagles. Would that make sense though?

Here are three reasons why the Eagles could be a perfect fit for LeSean McCoy.

Miles Sanders

LeSean McCoy likely isn't a 200-plus carry guy anymore. He's extremely athletic, and he might be most effective when kept rested. So to be his best, McCoy should want to go to a team with other options.

The Eagles have Miles Sanders. In his rookie season in 2019, he proved he has star potential. He is clearly the future of the position for Philadelphia.

That's a perfect opportunity for LeSean McCoy. He can be the reliever for Sanders. This could still afford him around 10 carries a game, and an opportunity for a few receptions.

While it may not give him the most playing time, this is the type of situation that would grant LeSean McCoy the chance to be his most efficient.

Carson Wentz

Carson Wentz, Eagles

LeSean McCoy needs to go to a team that will utilize it's running backs as weapons in the passing game. That's exactly what the Eagles will do. Most importantly, that's what quarterback Carson Wentz will do. Philadelphia's pass-thrower has shown that he likes to give the ball to his running backs.

It also helps that he's one of the true rising stars at the position. Wentz has had his inconsistencies, but he's largely considered as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. And he could absolutely love working with LeSean McCoy.

McCoy is best when he has the ball in the open field. Using screen passes and short quick passes are the best way to get that to happen. Wentz and the Eagles would gladly give McCoy a lot of those opportunities.

ClutchPoints essay on LeSean McCoy

LeSean McCoy just won a Super Bowl last season. However, he likely is still hungry for more. Turning 32 before the start of 2020, his time isn't exactly unlimited. McCoy likely isn't going to be playing for another five-plus years.

So if he wants to win more Super Bowls, the time is running out.

Therefore, McCoy's going to want to go to a team that actually has the Super Bowl in their sights. That's definitely the Eagles.

They won the entire thing back in 2017. And they won the NFC East in 2019. While they had a lot of problems as well, Philadelphia is still considered one of the more promising teams in the NFL.

If they make a few moves (adding to their secondary and wide receiver groups), the Eagles could be right back on top. There's no reason to believe LeSean McCoy wouldn't want to be a part of that.
