Romeo Langford is one of the top prospects available in the 2019 NBA Draft class and there are quite a few teams that would love to have him. While he is a great talent, he has slid down draft boards a bit due to an inconsistent freshman season with the Indiana Hoosiers. Despite that possible issue, the Atlanta Hawks should focus on getting Langford with the No. 10 overall pick.

That's right, the Hawks should target a back-court partner for rising star point guard Trae Young. They have the No. 8 pick in the draft to go with a different talent, possibly Cameron Reddish, and then could add a shooting guard like Langford alongside Young.

During the 2018-19 season with the Hoosiers, Langford ended up averaging 16.5 points per game to go along with 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He shot 44.8 percent from the field overall and 27.2 percent from the three-point line.

Some may not view adding another guard as a main priority for the Hawks. That being said, Young and Langford could be the kind of lethal guard duo that teams have found a lot of success with. Think of a Portland style of offense with the two guards running the show, creating for others around them.

Let's dive in and take a look at three reasons why Langford should be a priority for the Hawks at No. 10 overall in the NBA Draft.

3. Help Take Some Playmaking Pressure Off of Young

There is no question that Young is going to be a superstar for the Hawks and will be the face of their franchise for quite some time. Even though he is that good, the Hawks need to do everything they can to take pressure off of him. Adding Langford can do just that.

Not only would Langford be able to score the basketball, he could also handle it at times. Langford played some point guard at Indiana and would allow Young to play off-the-ball and focus on getting open for threes. A comparison for that setup would be Stephen Curry running around using screens to get open.

2. Langford Has Top-Notch Scoring Potential

Next up, the Hawks would have to feel very good about their future offense with Langford on board. He may have had some consistency issues at Indiana, but his scoring ability was on display most nights.

Atlanta has not had a lethal offense in quite some time. Langford isn't the best scorer in the draft, but he certainly is one of them. If they were to take him, Langford could very well develop into an 18-20 points per game scorer very quickly.

1. He Is Ready to Prove People Wrong for Doubting Him

It has become fairly clear that Langford did not like the way that some fans in Indiana doubted him. He will be bringing some of that to the NBA with him. Langford may have a chip on his shoulder.

While some players cannot deal well with a chip on their shoulder, Langford is the kind of kid that needs it. He needs to have something that gets him angry and motivated to prove everyone wrong. Langford has an amazing skill-set and he also has the desire to be great to prove every critic he currently has wrong, which is exactly what the Hawks need.
