After falling 1-2 on the season, the Seattle Seahawks bounced back with a huge win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. They put themselves back in the race in a competitive NFC West division. It's time to continue our NFL takeaways series with a Seahawks Week 4 takeaway.

Seattle had a rough couple of weeks but they looked much better against San Francisco. The defense bothered the 49ers just enough to gain the edge. Although the Seahawks won the game, it was a relatively forgetful performance from the team overall.

One thing that is abundantly clear is that Russell Wilson needs better pass protection. They allowed three sacks on the day but Wilson still looked to be running for his life. Additionally, DK Metcalf has struggled so far and he must become a focal point for this offense moving forward. With that said, here are three Seahawks Week 4 takeaways from their win over the 49ers.

Seahawks Week 4 Takeaways

3. Quiet day for the offense but the Seahawks pulled through

Overall, it wasn't the most spectacular performance but the Seahawks got the job done. “So what if you win ugly,” is a famous phrase uttered by former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher and it seemed the Seahawks followed that mantra on Sunday.

With just 149 passing yards and a mediocre run game, Seattle has to find a way to get the offense rolling again. Regardless, it was enough to earn the win in Week 4. We might see the Seahawks struggle a bit for a tad longer though, as they face the Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers in their next two games.

2. The offensive line must protect Russell Wilson more efficiently

It's no secret that Russell Wilson is one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL. However, drama ensued in the offseason as he was at odds with the coaching staff and front office. One of the key issues was building an adequate offensive line to protect Wilson.

It seems that goal has failed (so far at least) as Russell Wilson has virtually no time to make a play. This is an obvious weakness on the roster and it could hinder the franchise's playoff hopes. Even so, it's still early in the season and the team has time to turn things around. Look for Seattle to get creative with their pass protection, as it gives them the best chances of winning games.

1. Coaching staff has to find a way to get DK Metcalf more involved

In three of his four games played this year, DK Metcalf has been held to just 65 receiving yards or less. Considering how much of a dominant force Metcalf can be, the Seahawks have to find a way to get their top receiver more involved. It's essential for the team's success, as he's a mismatch nightmare in the NFL.

We'll see what the coaching staff can do. Considering the Seahawks are 2-2 and are in the thick of it in the NFC West bodes well for their chances. However, getting DK Metcalf the ball more often can only be a good thing. He opens up opportunities for the entire roster and will make Russell Wilson more efficient in the passing game.
