The Seattle Seahawks Week 15 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams wasn't quite what we expected. This team kept up with LA for the most part, but Seattle fell apart at the end. Their season is nearly over with the playoffs right around the corner. We take a look at this Seahawks-Rams game with some of our Seahawks Week 15 takeaways in mind.

Seattle's defense has been putrid all year, but they came to play against the Rams. The Seahawks got after Matthew Stafford, did a decent job stuffing the run, and contained everybody except for Cooper Kupp. It was easily the defense's best performance this season.

Offensively, this was one of the worst performances for Seattle. The rushing attack was efficient but wasn't enough to keep the Seahawks within reach. Shockingly, the passing attack was what hurt Seattle the most on Tuesday. DK Metcalf looked as frustrated as ever, while Russell Wilson looked completely lost on the field.

With that said, here are three Seahawks Week 15 takeaways from their game against the Rams.

Seahawks Week 15 Takeaways

3. Seahawks defense looked phenomenal

This was a pleasant surprise for Seahawks fans on Tuesday. The pass rush bothered Stafford throughout the game. Everyone outside of Sony Michel and Cooper Kupp had a less than stellar performance, which helped make this NFC West showdown much more entertaining.

The Seahawks ultimately lost, but this is something the team can build upon. It's been a while since we've seen Seattle's defense at the top of the league. Although they lost this matchup, the defense deserves credit where it's due. Look for this team to build on this performance as Pete Carroll aims to end the year on a high note.

2. DK Metcalf deserves better

It was another frustrating day for DK Metcalf as he finished with just 52 yards off of six receptions. There were multiple times where Russell Wilson would throw him the ball, but it was either off-target or underthrown. We've seen Metcalf visibly frustrated throughout the entire season, which doesn't bode well for his future with the Seahawks.

Metcalf is a monster athlete who is a threat to score on any given play. However, he's been extremely underwhelming this season, as he and Wilson have failed to connect. With the possibility of the Seahawks going into a rebuild, speculation may begin to expand around Metcalf's career outlook with the organization.

1. Russell Wilson completely disappeared

Russell Wilson straight up fell flat on his face against the Rams on Tuesday. It was an ugly performance, as everything about the game worked in Seattle's favor. However, it was poor quarterback play that nailed the coffin in the Seahawks' loss. It was hard to watch, as Wilson ended the contest with a measly 156 passing yards and one interception.

Typically Russell Wilson has been one of the few bright spots on the Seahawks this year. Normally we see the offensive line fail to protect him, or the run game gets stopped dead in its tracks. In a matchup where Seattle needed a big performance out of their quarterback, Russell Wilson failed to live up to expectations. We'll see what the future holds in store for Wilson, as speculation of his departure grows.
