With the Pittsburgh Steelers Week 6 game against the Seattle Seahawks wrapped up, it appears the franchise has found a way to remain competitive for now. We'll see how it plays out, as Pittsburgh plays in a tough AFC North division. For that reason, we're going to evaluate the Steelers-Seahawks game with our Steelers Week 6 takeaways.

The Steelers were able to squeak out a victory over a hobbled Seahawks team, but it was a big win for this franchise. It keeps Pittsburgh in the playoff race as they currently have a 3-3 record. If they hope to remain at the top of the rankings in the AFC, the team must generate consistent scoring from the offense.

Although he didn't find much running room, Najee Harris has proven to be a reliable running back in his rookie year so far. His involvement in the passing game has given the Steelers something they can rely on. Additionally, rookie Pat Freiermuth showed off his skills, and Ben Roethlisberger seemed much more comfortable in the pocket. With that said, here are three Steelers' Game 6 takeaways from their matchup versus the Seahawks.

Steelers Week 6 Takeaways

3. Najee Harris is legit

He ended the day with 81 rushing yards off of 24 carries, which wasn't all that spectacular. However, Najee Harris provides consistency in the passing game as well, making him a versatile weapon for Pittsburgh. His six receptions for 46 yards ranked him as the third most productive receiver, and Harris reeled in the only touchdown reception on the day.

It's clear that Najee Harris plays a vital role in the Steelers' success. If the offensive line improves their run blocking, the rookie running back could make a massive leap in production. Even so, it's clear the Steelers will rely on Harris for the remainder of the season, and for years to come.

2. Pat Freiermuth proved he can be a consistent pass option

With Juju Smith-Schuster gone, it was speculated that Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool would receive a larger workload. Instead, Pat Freiermuth stepped up and played as Ben Roethlisberger's second favorite target on the day.

Typically it takes a while for rookie tight ends to get acclimated to the professional level, but Freiermuth has been developing quickly. He's a versatile tight end who can help with blocking as well. Due to Freiermuth's performance so far, it's safe to say he's now the starting tight end over Eric Ebron.

1. Ben Roethlisberger got the job done despite his early struggles

Big Ben isn't the same quarterback he used to be, but he stepped up when the Steelers needed him to on Sunday. It helped that Seattle's secondary is one of the worst in the league. However, Roethlisberger finished with 229 yards through the air and a touchdown pass. It was just enough for the Steelers to clinch the win in overtime.

This is the type of play from Roethlisberger the Steelers need if they hope to remain competitive. The AFC is a tightly contested race at the moment, so Pittsburgh has to play their best if they want to make it to the postseason. The team has a bye in Week 7, so this is a great opportunity for Big Ben and the Steelers to rest up for their Week 8 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
