The Toronto Raptors have started the season 7-6, but Goran Dragic has fallen out of the rotation. He has only played in four games this season and struggled to fit in with the Raptors.

Dragic's time with Toronto has been a nightmare from the start. When he was traded, he said, “Toronto is not my preferred destination. I have higher ambitions. We'll see.” Dragic later took back the comments about the trade, but with little playing time, it makes sense for him to move on.

With that said, here are three trade destinations for Raptors' Goran Dragic.

3 trade destinations for Goran Dragic

3. Denver Nuggets

This season, the Denver Nuggets have dealt with some significant injuries as Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray are out. Despite the injuries, they sit at 8-4 and are fourth in the Western Conference. While the Nuggets have a talented team, the addition of Dragic could elevate the bench production.

He was an integral part of the Miami Heat's finals run in 2020 due to his scoring ability. Denver could use an addition like this to potentially make a deep playoff run. Dragic has gotten out to a slow start on the season with the Raptors, averaging six points per game along with 2.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists.

He has shot inefficiently from the field at 31.8 percent and 22.2 percent from three. Although it's been a terrible start, Dragic is a savvy veteran who could positively impact the Nuggets.

2. Boston Celtics

Another team that could use a player like Dragic is the Boston Celtics. The Celtics have had a somewhat disappointing start to the season as they are 6-6. While they have Marcus Smart and Dennis Schroder at point guard, they could use another ball-handler off the bench.

Dragic has proven throughout his career that he can contribute to winning basketball. Last season with the Heat, he averaged 13.4 points per game along with 4.4 assists. He also shot 43.2 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from three.

In a new situation, Dragic could thrive, and Boston would be a good fit.

1. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks have been in rumors for the Raptors guard over the past few months, and for good reason. Dallas has gotten off to a quick start as they sit fifth in the Western Conference at 8-4. However, they could use depth off the bench to pair with their young guard Jalen Brunson.

Brunson has started off the season well, averaging 14.9 points per game along with 4.9 rebounds and assists. He is still developing as a player, and Dragic would be a great addition alongside him. They could then have two ball handlers off the bench, and Dragic could be a great mentor to Brunson and even Luka Doncic.

His veteran experience could help the Mavericks win a series in the postseason as they have been eliminated in the first round the past two seasons.

The question now is, what would these teams have to give up to acquire Dragic? Well, with Dragic out of the Raptors' rotation, they would likely want to get off his contract. He is set to make $19.4 million this season, which is a difficult contract to take on.

In order to make the deal work, the Raptors would likely have to part of the contract to make him tradeable. A buyout is another option for Dragic, but it would not make as much sense as the Raptors wouldn't get any assets in return.

The Raptors won't get a ton for Dragic, but anything would be better than having him leave for nothing. If Dragic is moved to one of the aforementioned teams, he could significantly impact a team once again.
