The Chicago Bears followed up a breakout 2018 season with a massively disappointing 2019. Now they will be looking to restock in the offseason.

However, that's not always the easiest task. Between re-signing your own players and staff, any new hires, free agency and the NFL Draft, there is a lot to worry about. Due to that, it's easy to drop the ball on something.

Chicago needs to focus up on free agency though. Especially considering they could definitely use some help in a few categories. Can they find the diamonds in the rough though?

Here are three underrated free agents the Bears could target this offseason.

Tyler Eifert

Last year proved that the Bears need a tight end. Chicago entered the year with Trey Burton as it's number one. He played in eight games and led all tight ends on the team in 14 receptions.

Meanwhile, J.P. Holtz led the unit with 91 receiving yards. Finally, Jesper Horsted and Ben Braunecker each had one touchdown.

That's really bad. Just miserable.

Tyler Eifert has had trouble staying healthy in the past. He's always been seen as someone with elite potential though.

At this point in his career, that elite potential probably isn't coming out. He'll be a relatively cheap option though, and is a massive upgrade over the current unit. Eifert would give Mitchell Trubisky a big target to hit, and someone who can play the role of security blanket.

Marcus Mariota

Speaking of Trubisky, 2019 was not kind to the quarterback. While all hope is not lost, the Bears certainly aren't feeling as confident in him as they were after last season.

So having a good backup is a smart move. When Trubisky got hurt in 2019, the team was put into the hands of Chase Daniel. All this really did was show how much better Trubisky was at the time.

What the Bears need is a veteran quarterback who can actually compete for the starting job. That way, two things can happen.

First of all, if Trubisky gets hurt, they have a strong option. Second, and more importantly, competition.

Mariota will be leaving Tennessee looking for a place where he has a chance to start. Chicago can give him a chance to earn it. This will bring out the best in both Mariota and Trubisky. And whoever wins the starting job will have a good backup who can keep them on their toes.

Nelson Agholor

Even if they upgrade at tight end, the Bears need more depth at receiver. Allen Robinson is great, and Taylor Gabriel is a good deep threat. Anthony Miller showed a lot last season too.

That's it though. And Gabriel only played in nine games last season.

So clearly, depth at the position is needed.

Agholor is coming off a bad year himself. That should keep the price down quite a bit.

He's still got a lot of talent though. In fact, Agholorwas coming off back-to-back breakout seasons before last year.

The receiver has a lot of issues, such as his hands and trouble with routes at times. When he's on, he's really good though. And having him as a depth guy could pay dividends for a team looking to get back into being Super Bowl contenders.
