The Golden State Warriors took Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals in decisive fashion over the Dallas Mavericks. By a score of 112-87, they simply outclassed the Mavs on their home floor.

The Warriors throttled the Mavs in a nearly wire-to-wire victory. Stephen Curry posted game highs of 21 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Poole scored 19 points on 8-12 shooting, while five other Golden State players scored in double figures.

Luka Doncic, meanwhile, registered 20 points on 6-18 shooting and had more turnovers (seven, more than twice the amount anyone else had) than assists (four).

Golden State maintained its home-court advantage with a rousing victory. Although it is worth being very happy about, the job is far from over. Still, who doesn't love overreacting to a Game 1 blowout? Here is a look at some overreactions coming from this game and why the Warriors must not fall victim to them.

3 Warriors overreactions to their Game 1 demolition of Mavs

3. Andrew Wiggins is the official Luka Doncic stopper

Doncic had his worst game in the NBA playoffs because of the Warriors' unreal team defense. Although Steve Kerr chose to give Andrew Wiggins the Doncic matchup and he did a pretty solid job, it's not safe to assume Wiggins is Doncic's kryptonite.

The Dubs made Doncic's life so tough because they helped off of their assignments and kept the Mavs from converting on their triples. Leaving Wiggins alone on an island is not the way to go moving forward. Doncic got the better of him several times, even in one of his worst games, and now has the motivation to do so even more.

The Warriors switched on ball screens with Doncic and relied on their array of strong defenders to help slow him down. They also utilized a zone defense. Although Wiggins was the initial defender on Doncic, it took a village and numerous different looks to stop him.

2. The Warriors will eventually have to find someone who can go toe-to-toe with Doncic

Doncic's poor game should be considered a fluke as of now. He has earned this right by being one of the very best playoff performers this year. He can be a one-man wrecking crew, and the reflex from Golden State may be to have Curry or Poole do something similar. Instead, the Warriors should just keep playing their game.

The Warriors showed their strength in numbers with seven players all putting up double-digit point totals. Their off-ball movement, quick passes around the court and fast-break offense gave Dallas a lot of trouble on defense. Giving the Mavs one player to key in on is giving them an out.

Although he is currently suffering from a few injuries, Doncic is built to carry Dallas' offense because of his size, ball handling and shooting touch. The Warriors should let him do his thing while they pick apart the defense using all five guys.

1. The Mavs don't stand a chance

The last thing the Warriors can do is take their foot off the gas.

Everyone counted the Mavs out as soon as they matched up with the Phoenix Suns. Dallas then stuck with them through the series and humiliated them in Game 7. The Warriors didn't allow the underdog, Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies to come back and defeat them in the series, but it was certainly a hard-fought win.

Remember, the Mavs lost both of their first two games to the Suns and then defeated them twice in Dallas to even up the series. If the Warriors' tendency to cough the ball up comes back, it can ignite a decisive Mavs victory.

The Warriors do have a core with a better track record of success in the NBA playoffs than the Suns do. Still, the Suns were fresh off a Western Conference title and look what happened. As stated previously, the Dubs have to keep their foot on the gas in order to come out on top.
