Things can't get much better for the Los Angeles Rams. They're fresh off of a thrilling Super Bowl victory, and they didn't slow down at all during the offseason. General manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay put together one of the better free agency periods in the NFL. After that, they followed that up with a solid, unexciting, 2022 NFL Draft. The Rams look like they're primed to make a run at defending their title this year, so with that being said, here are three early predictions for the Rams in 2022.

Rams Early Predictions for 2022 NFL Season

1. Los Angeles will win the NFC West again

This isn't much of a bold prediction, but it's one that's very likely to come true. The Rams didn't really get any worse over the offseason, but two of their divisional opponents did. The Seattle Seahawks magically transformed themselves into the worst team in the NFL with the Russell Wilson trade, and the Arizona Cardinals had one of the worst offseasons in the entire league.

The only real competition for the division comes in the form of the San Francisco 49ers. However, the 49ers will be putting their season into the hands of second-year quarterback Trey Lance. Lance played sparingly as a rookie, and none of it was good. It's fair to expect a lot of growing pains for him during his first year as a full-time starter. As a whole, this division is far weaker than most people think, and the Rams should take advantage of that to claim first place.

2. Los Angeles will lose three of their last four games

Unfortunately for the Rams, they have one of the toughest end-of-year schedules in the entire league. It starts in Week 16, where they travel to face the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. Los Angeles played in Green Bay last season, and they had a ton of trouble with the elements as well as suffering through overall poor play.

The weather will play a huge factor in an already difficult matchup that Los Angeles will eventually lose. Next, the Denver Broncos come to Los Angeles on Christmas day. Again, another incredibly difficult matchup at a point where injuries and fatigue will be taking a major toll. It's entirely possible that the Rams lose a hotly contested game here.

Unfortunately for LA, things don't get any easier when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 17. The Chargers look like one of the best teams in the NFL, and getting them on the schedule in what could be a must-win situation is just a stroke of bad luck. However, the Rams will end the year with an easy victory over the Seahawks to go 1-3 in their last four contests.

3. The Rams won't be able to defend their title

It's incredibly unlikely that Los Angeles ends the 2022 season the same way they ended 2021. The Rams have one of the worst schedules in the league, and while they should win their division, it's highly unlikely they earn a first-round bye. That means another long postseason road, one that probably runs through Dallas, Tampa Bay, and Green Bay.

The Rams have the talent to beat all of those teams, but it seems doubtful that they can put everything together one more time. Los Angeles should exit the postseason in the Divisional Round in 2022.
