In a shocking turn of events, the Kansas City Chiefs traded away Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. Now, the franchise holds two first-round selections in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft and could look to replace their former superstar. For that reason, we take a gander at which prospects make the most sense to be one of the new Chiefs wide receivers this season.

With Tyreek Hill now playing in Miami, the Dolphins suddenly find their wide receiver core loaded. Tua Tagovailoa will have a stellar group around him and we should expect big things from this team. Meanwhile, the Chiefs set themselves up to reconstruct the roster to improve their chances of maintaining a top of the NFL.

The best way to do that is through the 2o22 NFL Draft. Kansas City has a chance to make a splash pick (or two) in the first round. It'll be interesting to see how the front office builds the roster, as the team has plenty of holes on the defensive side of the ball. Regardless, there is now a massive hole within the wide receiver group that must be addressed.

Having said that, here are three prospects the Chiefs must target in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft.

Chiefs Wide Receivers in 2022 NFL Draft

3. Treylon Burks

The Chiefs currently hold the 29th and 30th picks of the Draft. After trading Hill to the Dolphins, Kansas City has plenty of draft capital to trade up if they need to. Treylon Burks is being viewed as a top-three prospect this offseason and would be a tremendous fit for this offense. He's big, fast, and has the intangibles to be a top wide receiver in the league one day.

Losing Tyreek Hill is going to hurt, but the Chiefs have a chance to find his replacement immediately. Burks proved to be a reliable target throughout his collegiate career and many believe he's the best receiver in this class. If selected by Kansas City, Treylon Burks should be able to make an immediate impact from day one, especially with Patrick Mahomes under center. Not to mention, Travis Kelce and Juju Smith-Schuster would make his life easier getting open downfield.

2. Christian Watson

Having Kelce and Smith-Schuster gives the Chiefs a buffer at the wide receiver position. Kansas City can get by with those two as Mahomes is an elite quarterback that can get the job done. If need be, the front office can be patient and select a wide receiver they like in the late portion of the first round. That makes Christian Watson an excellent candidate for this franchise.

Although Watson isn't as polished as some of the other prospects, he has the tools to be a problem in the league. Kansas City could be the best destination for him, as the Chiefs utilize a high-powered offense that could quicken his development. Furthermore, Christian Watson wouldn't have a ton of pressure to shine right away and he could ease into the scheme. Selecting him late first round would be a brilliant move for this franchise.

1. Garrett Wilson

Here's another prospect that the Chiefs might have to trade up for. In fact, Kansas City might have to deal a good chunk of draft capital away, as Garrett Wilson is arguably the best pass catcher in this year's class. However, taking Wilson in the 2022 NFL Draft makes sense for this team, as he'd fill in Tyreek Hill's spot seamlessly.

Wilson might just be the most NFL-ready prospect in the draft. If the Chiefs can find a way to get him on the roster, they should be able to retain the high-powered passing attack without too much of a drop-off. Look for Kansas City to potentially make a big trade in the draft, as the front office might have Garrett Wilson in their sights.
