The Cincinnati Bengals earned the victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night after trailing 14-0 at halftime. It was a great comeback that keeps the Bengals in the front of the AFC North. It's time to continue our NFL takeaways series with a Bengals Week 4 takeaway.

The game started out ugly for the Bengals as the Jaguars scored 14 unanswered points. However, Cincinnati locked it down in the second half and only allowed seven points for the remainder of the game. It was an impressive performance overall and it put the Bengals defense on the map.

Offensively, Cincinnati looked composed. Joe Mixon plays a vital role in the run game, but he could be given more opportunities. Additionally, with Tee Higgins ruled out, Tyler Boyd stepped up in a big way. Lastly, Joe Burrow looked like a franchise quarterback on the NFL's center stage. Bengals Week 4 Takeaways

4. Bengals defense looks like the real deal after locking down the Jaguars in the second half

As of right now, the Cincinnati Bengals sit atop the AFC North and their defense has played a huge part in helping them take first place. Sure, the Jaguars looked phenomenal in the first half, however, in the third and fourth quarters, the Bengals locked down their opponent.

The Bengals are red hot to start the season and if their defense continues playing like this, they'll have a chance to beat anybody. Keep an eye on Cincinnati as they've been surprisingly playing great football so far this year.

3. Joe Mixon looked good but could have been better

It's no question that Joe Mixon is the featured running back in the Bengals offense. He did well with his opportunities on Thursday night but he could have made a bigger impact. He received 16 carries and rushed for 67 yards and one touchdown. Not a bad stat line by any means, but it wasn't great either.

Mixon wasn't involved in the passing game and he could have received more carries. Considering how much he's getting paid, Joe Mixon provided slightly above-average rushing proficiency when they need him to be great. We'll see if he can improve his play, as he's clearly the best running back on the Bengals roster.

2. Tyler Boyd proved he's one of the most consistent receivers in the NFL

With Tee Higgins shaping up to be a star and the arrival of rookie standout Ja'Marr Chase, Tyler Boyd seemed to get lost in the shuffle. However, Higgins didn't play in this matchup, giving Boyd an expanded role he took advantage of. Boyd finished the game with nine receptions and 118 yards.

Joe Burrow threw his way often and Tyler Boyd delivered. He's been a consistent pass option throughout his entire career and is one of the most underrated receivers in the league. He's done nothing but produce for this Bengals franchise and proved it yet again against the Jaguars. Keep an eye on Tyler Boyd, as he could maintain this type of production throughout most of the season.

1. Joe Burrow flashed his potential on Thursday Night Football

It was a slow start for Joe Burrow, but he finished the evening with 348 passing yards and two touchdowns. It was an impressive performance and he looked like the number one pick the Bengals selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. If Burrow plays as he did against the Jaguars, the Bengals can beat anybody. Cincinnati is in a great place right now, as it seems they've found their franchise quarterback.
