Another week, another loss for Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars, who got clobbered by the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13 to the tune of a 37-17 loss to Matthew Stafford and company. The losing skid has now reached four games for the Jags, one Week 14 defeat away from tying their longest winless streak of the season.

The Jaguars are not expected to become Super Bowl contenders right away when they got Lawrence, but they must have envisioned a better record than 2-7 by the time the end of Week 13. That's apparently not the case for the Jaguars, whose got problems to solve on both ends of the field. With that said, here are four takeaways for the Jaguars from their listless performance against the Rams in Week 13.

Jaguars Week 13 Takeaways

4. It's not yet Trevor Lawrence's time

Going up against a Rams defense that features the pair of Von Miller and Aaron Donald was a confidence-builder for Lawrence. The Jaguars have not given up plenty of sacks this season,  and their pass protection has been one of the few brighter spots, relatively speaking, on the team. But there's nothing in Lawrence's performance against the Rams that's something Jaguars fans would remember years later. The rookie quarterback passed for just 145 yards and zero touchdowns on 16-of-28 completions. If not getting intercepted is a thing for Jags supporters, then seeing Lawrence avoid throwing a pick probably made their day.

Since the start of November, Lawrence has connected on just one passing score to go with only a single interception. It's really difficult to develop a strong feeling about that data. On one hand, Lawrence has managed to keep himself from gift-wrapping opponents with picks just like fellow rookie, New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson. On the other hand, where is the progress that Jags fans are warranted to look for in a no. 1 overall pick?

3. The Jaguars are going to get a high pick in the 2022 NFL Draft

Speaking of a draft pick, the Jaguars are on their way to winning another high selection in the draft next year. With the Detroit Lions winning their very first game of the season by beating the Minnesota Vikings and the Jaguars getting walloped by the Rams over the weekend, Jacksonville's chances of securing a top spot in the 2022 NFL Draft just got even stronger.

Right now, only three teams — the Houston Texans, Jaguars, and Lions — have fewer than three wins. It's still possible that the Jaguars would get a no. 1 pick for the second year in a row, especially if they continue their free fall and the Lions suddenly feed off their newfound momentum to win games.

In any case, the Jaguars should start planning, if they haven't yet, how to attack the 2022 NFL Draft with a top-three pick in their hands.

2. Laquon Treadwell is making noise (sort of)

A former first-round pick, Treadwell has resurfaced with the Jaguars' active roster after getting promoted from the practice squad back in early November. The 26-year-old has not lived up to his promising potential when he was selected by the Vikings 23rd overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.

There are numerous fantasy football managers out there who have felt duped and shortchanged when they invested considerable capital in him, but there's probably a few of them who benefited from scooping him up from the waiver wire recently. Treadwell followed up his decent performance in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12 (53 receiving yards on four receptions) with a better one in Week 13 against the Rams, catching four of five targets for 62 receiving yards.

1. Gardner Minshew says hello

With the Jaguars netting Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft, quarterback Gardner Minshew became a dispensable asset for the team. Jacksonville traded Minshew to the Philadelphia Eagles in August for a 2022 NFL Draft pick.

It took several weeks, but Minshew finally showed the Jaguars what they were missing when he stepped in for the injured Jalen Hurts and led the Eagles to a 33-18 victory over the New York Jets on the road in Week 13.

Sure, it was just against the Jets, but he still went 20 of 25 for 242 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero picks thrown on a day that Jacksonville got another anemic showing from Lawrence.
