As we inch closer to the start of the NFL playoffs, each game becomes vital to teams that are fighting for playoff positioning and looking to maintain a high seed. With the postseason fast approaching and Super Bowl contenders starting to lock in and re-establish their groove, Week 13 will prove to be a crucial one for many teams.

Week 13 is bound to be filled with all-around great performances and stellar plays from the league's best players, considering how tight the playoff race has shaped up. Playoff-bound and eager to make a statement this weekend, here are four teams that desperately need a win this week.

4. Kansas City Chiefs

Even though they've gotten back to their winning ways and looked more like their dominant selves over the past couple of weeks, the Kansas City Chiefs must stay on the winning path if want to avoid another skid and falter in the AFC standings. With Patrick Mahomes playing MVP-caliber football once again and Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce back to their old tricks, the Chiefs are looking as dangerous as ever.

If they want to maintain this momentum moving forward, then they must away with another big win against the tough-minded Broncos on Sunday night. As they return to form and aim to continuously implement a new strategy into their game plan, the Chiefs will undoubtedly be under pressure to come away with another win in Week 13. After seeing their defense step up over the past few weeks though, the Chiefs have gradually progressed into a complete team on both sides of the field.

3. Los Angeles Chargers

After a hot start to their season and a few statement wins, the LA Chargers looked like the most explosive team in the NFL. Especially after pulling off a couple of big wins on the road and catapulting their way into first place in the AFC West. Through the early part of the year, the Chargers season outlook was very promising – especially after getting off to a 4-1 start on the year. Ever since then, they've fallen to 6-5 and haven't looked as dominant in their recent matchups, going into Week 13.

However, this is still a young team and they've progressed into a playoff threat much quicker than expected, plus with six weeks still left in the season, the Chargers definitely have the depth and talent on both sides of the ball to pull out a few more quality wins. So come Sunday afternoon, there'll be a lot riding on their primetime showdown with the scorching hot Cincinnati Bengals.

2. Buffalo Bills

In spite of their blowout win against the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving day, the Buffalo Bills had fizzled out over the past couple of weeks. With a big game coming up against their long-time division rival and the league's hottest team, the Bills will need to do everything in their power to put an end to the Patriots' current winning streak.

They'll need a balanced attack in Week 13 on offense from Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Emmanuel Sanders, Kevin Knox, and Devin Singletary paired with a strong defense showing – especially with Tre'Davious White now out for the season with a torn ACL. So with all this going for the Bills, a quality win against the powerful New England Patriots is exactly what they'll need to inject new life into their season.

1. Los Angeles Rams

Through the first eight weeks of the season, the Los Angeles Rams looked like the best team in the NFL and were absolutely unstoppable on the offensive end. After getting off to a 7-1 start, the Rams seem to have lost their edge and have looked average over their past three games with big losses to the Titans, 49ers, and Packers, all of whom are Super Bowl contenders they may have to cross paths with later this year.

It looked as if the additions of Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr. were going to add even more firepower to this deep and dynamic Rams squad on both sides of the ball, but after dropping to 7-4 on the season, things have suddenly gotten out of hand in LA. With a star-studded cast of Pro Bowlers led by Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, Cooper Kupp, and Robert Woods, it goes without saying that the Rams possess entirely too much talent to be playing this poorly, heading into Week 13.

If they don't change the narrative soon then things could get ugly for Sean McVay and company, and they'll need to rev things up defensively in order to do so. As they aim to right the ship and get back to dominating their opponents on a weekly basis, look out for the Rams to put on a show and light up the scoreboard against the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars. This match-up will be pivotal for the Rams and they'll need everyone to step their game up immensely if they're to pull out a win in Week 13 and put an end to their current losing streak.
