The Minnesota Vikings shocked the world with their win over the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card round. Heading into their game on Saturday against the San Francisco 49ers, everyone seems to be counting them out again, but that is a big mistake. Let's breakdown four reasons the Vikings will advance to the NFC championship game with a win on Saturday.

4. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer

Mike Zimmer has gotten some heat this season, and some wondered if he would be fired if the team lost to the Saints. Not only did Zimmer not lose the game, but he also called one of the best games of the season.

Moving Everson Griffen and Danielle Hunter inside to attack the weakness of the Saints defensive line worked perfectly. He is going to find the shortcomings of the 49ers' offense and attack them to put his defense in the best position to win. He also has the team already moved on from the Saints and focused on this game. The last time the Vikings had an emotional win, it was the Minneapolis Miracle, and the next week, they laid a dud against the Eagles. That won't happen again.

Jimmy Garoppolo also has struggled at times against exotic looks, and Zimmer is the master at that. He is going to have all types of tricks up his sleeve to confuse Garoppolo.

3. The Vikings' secondary playing with confidence

The Vikings' secondary was banged up against the Saints, and they will probably be again in this game. They might get nickel Mackenzie Alexander back, but they will be without cornerback Mike Hughes.

Against the Saints, it was Andrew Sendejo and Holton Hill who stepped up. Outside of the one deep pass, Xavier Rhodes also played well.

This is a group that is connected and confident, which is a bad combination for the 49ers. The secondary isn't going to be a weakness for the Vikings.

2. Dalvin Cook against the 49ers defense

The 49ers' defense is strong, but at times in 2019, they have struggled against the run. On the season, the 49ers are giving up 112.6 yards per game on the ground, which is 17th in the league.

Cook missed the last two games of the regular season dealing with a shoulder injury, but those two weeks seem to have done him good. Against the Saints, He rushed 28 times for 94 yards and two touchdowns. He has had success against good run defenses, so going against a mediocre one, he should have no issue running wild.

1. Viking QB Kirk Cousins

All the narrative surrounding Kirk Cousins has been about him not being able to win the big game. Against the Saints, he got off to a slow start, and there looked to be some nerves. After he got into a rhythm, he played well, and he made clutch throws during overtime to lead the Vikings to pull the upset.

Cousins now has the confidence, and he shouldn't have to feel around to get his feet wet as he did against the Saints. With the running game back to normal, it also should mean more open receivers because teams need to focus on taking away the run.
