This was supposed to be the season that the Cleveland Browns finally turned the corner and made it back into the playoffs. Fast forward to the present day and the Browns are one of the more disappointing teams in all of the NFL. They enter a season where they need to push the right buttons this offseason, but that might not even be enough.

Let's break down four reasons the Browns should be in panic mode entering the offseason.

4. Fate

Are we sure that this isn't just the fate of the Browns? Maybe this is a team that is meant to be a losing team forever.

Sometimes losing franchises are fine with going through the motions and continuing to be bad. At this point, it feels like that's what the Browns are okay with. Every move in the last 10 years seems to have backfired.

How can we trust they are going to make the right moves this offseason?

3. The Browns have chemistry issues

It's clear there are some chemistry issues inside the locker room, although that shouldn't be all that surprising with guys like Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. on the team. Those types of issues could make it hard to attract the free agents that they need to get back into the playoffs.

There is a chance the team could try to get rid of some of the guys that cause the chemistry issues, but they are good players so that might not be the right move either.

2. Browns' coaching

If the team decides to bring back Freddie Kitchens, the team is making the wrong move, but it wouldn't be all that shocking because this is a team that has made all the wrong decisions for the last decade-plus. If they do decide to fire Kitchens and look for a new coach, the Browns aren't a super attractive job and it could be hard to find a solid replacement.

A sub-par coach is going to continue to put a sub-par product on the field.

1. Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield still could be a solid quarterback, but it's clear that the team isn't willing to adjust to help Mayfield be a better quarterback. The Baltimore Ravens built an entire offense to fit Lamar Jackson's needs and it doesn't look like that is a route the Browns want to go.

Mayfield ran a spread offense with the Oklahoma Sooners and that is what the team needs to switch to. If they don't, Mayfield isn't going to improve and the team needs to be in panic mode about their quarterback.
