The Green Bay Packers are set to take on the Los Angeles Chargers on the road this week and are looking to improve to 8-1 on the season. After pulling out a hard-fought win against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Packers are being viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Matt LaFleur has completely turned the team around and has them playing with confidence on both sides of the ball. Aaron Rodgers and the offense have figured things out completely after a slow start to the season and are firing on all cylinders. Defensively, the Packers are still giving up some big games, but they are much better than they have been in recent years.

Going up against the Chargers won't be an easy task for the Packers. Philip Rivers and company have not had the kind of year they were hoping for and are coming into this game at 3-5. However, they still have a ton of talent on their roster and are not going to be an easy win.

Rodgers is playing like the MVP that everyone has come to know and expect from him. The Packers are also extremely happy with the production they have received from Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, and the rest of their offensive playmakers.

All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at four reasons the Packers will defeat the Chargers this week.

4. The Smith Brothers Are Always A Threat

One of the biggest keys for the Packers this season has been the play of their duo of pass rushers. Preston and Za'Darius Smith have combined for 15 sacks and they will continue their impressive performance this week against Rivers and the Chargers.

If Green Bay can continue putting up big numbers defensively, they are going to come out with a win this week. Being able to pressure Rivers and putting hits on the quarterback will be a major key this week. They have a playmaking secondary and will take advantage of any mistakes Rivers makes.

3. Aaron Jones Is Becoming A Legitimate Superstar

Aaron Jones has become one of the league's most dominant running backs so far this season. Not only has he been a great player on the ground, he has become a top-notch receiving back as well. Green Bay will need him to continue producing this week.

Through the first eight games of the season, Jones has carried the football 114 times for 466 yards and eight touchdowns. He has also caught 34 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers show how big of a role Jones has played and he will have another quality performance this week.

2. Davante Adams' Return Will Make The Offense Even More Dangerous

After not having their superstar wide receiver for the last few weeks due to a toe injury he suffered in the team's only loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, Adams is expected to make his return to the field this week.

Green Bay had interest in acquiring Robby Anderson from the New York Jets at the trade deadline, but they are confident enough in their current wide receivers to not overpay. Adams will come back strong and will pick up where he left off, but the Packers now have guys like Allen Lazard, Jake Kumerow, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Geronimo Allison who have had to step up more. Even Jimmy Graham has turned into a playmaker for the Packers.

1. Aaron Rodgers Will Continue Dominating

Finally, the Packers have seen their superstar quarterback return to being one of the elite players in the NFL. He has had a couple of down years, but LaFleur's system has fit his game perfectly.

Rodgers has completed 65.4 percent of his pass attempts for 2,324 yards, 16 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He will put up another big game against a Chargers' defense that has plenty of holes. Green Bay will put up plenty of offensive production this week and their defense will play well enough to get them yet another win.
