Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Devin Bush had a standout career with the Michigan Wolverines and in Pittsburgh, the team hopes that he can help replace some of the production lost when Ryan Shazier was lost because of a devastating injury.

Bush has had an interesting road to the NFL and let's breakdown some things you need to know about number 55.

4. Bush and his dad are extremely close

Devin Bush Jr. and his dad Devin Bush Sr. are extremely close, and a lot of the relationship is based around football.

His dad always pushed him to play football always told him that if he decided he wanted to do something else he would be supportive in that too.

Bush Sr. took the high school coaching job at Flanagan High near Miami to coach Bush Jr.

When Bush went off to college at Michigan, Bush Sr. was hired as a defensive analyst on the Wolverines staff.

This will be a change not having for Bush Jr. to not have his dad on the staff of his team.

3. Bush comes from an athletic family

Devin Bush Sr. was a standout athlete playing cornerback for the Florida State Seminoles and the St. Louis Rams.

His sister Deja is currently a redshirt Junior for the Floria State Seminoles softball squad.

She won a national championship in 2018 with the Seminoles appearing in 48 games.

She was mostly used as a pinch runner scoring 22 runs and stealing 16 bases.

2. Bush likes to be different

Being different isn't a bad thing and Bush has always liked to be different. Bush has his own fashion sense and doesn't really like to go to the flow.

His teammate with the Wolverines  Josh Metellus thinks he actually has started some trends with some of the things he has done.

“Oh, yeah, if I had to say something about him, I’d say he just loves to be different. He likes to be the standout,” Metellus said with a laugh via the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. “You can just see that. Knowing him, his hairstyle, the clothes he wears, he likes to do his own thing. He likes to be in his own lane. That’s one of the things people are attracted to when it comes to him. … He does things, and people follow without him even noticing.”

On draft night he showed off one some of his fashion wearing a suit that raised many eyebrows.

1. Bush is fast….really fast

Devin Bush is a linebacker but he ran a 4.42 40 yard dash and he can play anywhere on the defense.

White said leading up to the draft that he was focusing on getting faster because he knows how important speed is for the linebacker position.

“I feel like if you’re a three-down linebacker, then you deserve to go as high as possible,” White said via Sports Illustrated. “Especially if you’re a good three-down linebacker. The game is speeding up, and backs are not just like downhill backs. They’re backs like Alvin Kamara, [who] you can put at receiver, and you’ve gotta have somebody to go cover them. You don’t want to keep putting safeties on the field, because what if they motion them back in, [and] now you have to put that safety in the box. So, it’s fitting.”

The Steelers certainly got a great playmaker who should make an impact right away.
