Just in week 13, the Lions need to beat the Minnesota Vikings, the Miami Dolphins to beat the New York Giants, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to beat the Atlanta Falcons, the New York Jets to beat the Philadelphia Eagles, the Arizona Cardinals to beat the Chicago Bears, the Las Vegas Raiders to beat Washington Football Team, and the Seattle Seahawks to beat the SanFrancisco 49ers.
After that, it gets really interesting.

In Week 16, the Lions need to beat the Falcons, have the Rams beat the Vikings, see the Giants beat Eagles, the Buccaneers beat the Panthers, the Cowboys beat Washington, the Seahawks beat the Bears, the Miami Dolphins beat the Saints, and the Tennessee Titans to beat the 49ers.
In Week 17, the Lions need to beat the Seahawks, have the Saints beat the Panthers, the Bears beat Giants, Washington beat the Eagles, Packers beat the Vikings and the Texans beat the 49ers.
And Finallyā¦in Week 18, the Lions need to beat the Packers, have the Falcons beat the Saints, see theĀ Giants beat Washington, the Cowboys beat the Eagles, the Vikings beat the Bears, and the Rams to beat the 49ers.
Yeahā¦that's not happening. It is hard enough to hit a three-game parlay when it comes to NFL betting and the Lions need to hit a 45-gamer. The Lions have a much better shot at finishing the season 0-16-1 than they do at making the playoffs and that is just the straight facts. At least the Lions managed to get a tie with the Steelers earlier this year or else they could have been the first team to ever lose 17 games in a season.
The current NFL record for losses on one season is held by the Lions and the Cleveland Browns, who both managed an 0-16 season. The NFL expanded to 17 games for the first time in 2021, making the 17-loss season possible for the first time. originally NFL teams only played 11 games before expanding to 12, 14, and eventually landing on 16 games before the 1978 season.
