There is plenty of hype surrounding San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman's first game against the Seattle Seahawks. His latest comments regarding quarterback Russell Wilson have only added more fuel to the fire.

Sherman has not been shy about voicing his opinions on his former team. According to Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group, he revealed that he does not share a relationship with Wilson:

“I don’t really have a relationship with Russell. We were teammates in a special time for the franchise,” Sherman said.

Sherman's comments are intriguing, to say the least. However, they are hardly surprising. Sherman was one of the most prolific faces of Seattle's dynasty several years ago. As a result, he was no stranger to making headlines, both good and bad. Among the notable stories were his criticisms of Wilson early on. It is clear that the two never spent much time together outside of work.

Although Sherman has no issue speaking on the matter, Wilson has somewhat taken the high road in all of this. He acknowledged that he still has tremendous respect for his former teammate. While the feeling may not be mutual for Sherman, both acknowledged that their time together in Seattle was special.

It is no secret that Sherman was not happy about his departure from Seattle. Despite all he had done for the franchise, they ultimately decided to cut him in order to save cap space following his devastating Achilles injury. It is safe to assume he is relishing the opportunity to get some payback in Week 13.
