Dana Stubblefield was once a star defensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers. But he's now so far-removed from his NFL heights as the 3-time Pro Bowler is set to do jail time. According to the New York Post, Stubblefield has been convicted of raping a ‘mentally delayed' woman.

The incident occurred in 2015 when Stubblefield invited a woman to his house to interview for a babysitting job. However, the woman would leave after 20 minutes, before the former defensive lineman texted her that he'd pay her for her time at his residence.

When she returned, Stubblefield raped her and gave her $80 while letting her leave, according to the reports. Then, shortly after the tragic event took place, the woman immediately reported the rape to the Morgan Hill Police Department.

After years of investigating the situation, Stubblefield now faces 15 years in prison. Jeff Rosen, a district attorney involved in the case, applauded the conviction of Stubblefield and pointed out the woman's struggles since the incident occurred.

“This was a triumph of resilience. The victim has struggled her whole life with learning disabilities and challenges to be self-sufficient. If we are not fighting for her, then who are we fighting for?” District Attorney Jeff Rosen said. “It has been a long road for this remarkable woman and we are thankful to the jury for providing her some closure and, for our community, justice after an unconscionable and violent crime.”

While Dana Stubblefield had a successful career with the 49ers, he'll now be spending time behind bars. On the other hand, hopefully the woman involved can have her voice be heard and can overcome such a dreadful incident.
