San Francisco 49ers star edge rusher Dee Ford will be questionable to play against the Minnesota Vikings as he's still recovering from a hamstring injury. Ford aggravated his hamstring back in Week 12 against the New Orleans Saints.

After signing a five-year $85 million contract in the offseason, Ford has only played in 10 games of the season. Ford has recorded 6.5 sacks this season, however, his presence on the defensive line allows all the other players to transcend. In the games he played in, the 49ers have an astonishing record of 9-1.

The 49ers defensive has plummeted the past five games only averaging 0.8 sacks per game. During the first 11 games, they were averaging nearly 4.0 sacks per game. According to Josh Dubow of the Associated Press tweet, Ford has been on the field for 172 pass plays and the team has pressured the quarterback 32% of those plays. When he's out, the team's pressure rate drops to 24.8%. It's obvious that 49ers defense will be way more explosive if he plays, but if he's not 100%, they'll take serious caution since he re-injured his hamstring back in week 12 after allowing him to play.

The 49ers defense is hoping to return to the form it had in the first half of the season for this upcoming playoff game. Strong safety Jaquiski Tartt and linebacker Kwon Alexander are both questionable to play on Saturday.

After going years in rebuild mode, the 49ers are seeking to win their first playoff game since 2013. They'll be hosting the Minnesota Vikings in the divisional round on Saturday.
