San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Dee Ford has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, but it appears that the 49ers will be getting him back this weekend.

On Friday, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Ford will be back in the lineup when San Francisco takes on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Ford has been a limited participant in practice this week.

In the 10 games that Ford has played this season, he has logged 14 tackles, 6.5 sacks and a couple of forced fumbles.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Auburn University, was originally selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round (23rd pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He had a very limited role with the Chiefs during his rookie campaign, tallying just seven tackles and 1.5 sacks. He received a bit more playing time during his second season, finishing with 23 tackles and four sacks before finally breaking out in 2016, registering 38 tackles and 10 sacks as a full-time starter.

Injuries then limited Ford to just six games in 2017, but last year, the Odenville, Al. native enjoyed his best season to date, racking up 55 tackles, 13 sacks and seven forced fumbles en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Kansas City traded Ford to the Niners back in March, receiving a second-round draft pick in return.

The 49ers are 10-2 on the season, most recently falling to the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday. The defeat caused San Francisco to fall out of first place in the NFC West.
