San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle recently inked a five-year, $75 million contract to stay with the team. The extension made him the highest-paid tight end in the league. The deal then caught the eye and the approval of an avid football fan in Hollywood star Dwayne ‘The Rock' Johnson.

The multi-awarded actor went to Twitter to congratulate the former Iowa Hawkeye:

The new contract was expected by many to come to fruition as Kittle was a key cog in the 49ers' run last season. His rare combination of potent receiving and blocking made him a valuable piece for the team.

Kittle also holds a multitude of league records, setting the most receiving yards in a season by a tight end with 1,377, first tight end to lead the league in yards after catch with 870, and most receiving yards in first three seasons by a tight end with 2,945.

He also found huge success in recent years as he earned his way towards a Pro Bowl appearance and a second-team All-Pro selection both in 2018. His third season in the league was also productive as he bagged the PFF Player of the Year, his second Pro Bowl appearance, and a first-team All-Pro inclusion last season.

George Kittle will continue to deal damage to the rest of the NFC West as he attempts to power his team back to the top of the division yet again. He and the rest of the 49ers are eager to get back to the Super Bowl stage and finish the job this time around.
