There's a big battle in store for Monday Night Football as the San Francisco 49ers trade blows with the Seattle Seahawks on the gridiron. However, they will most likely have to do it without George Kittle as he's still out with an injury.

Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports reported about Kittle's condition. The ankle and knee injuries he sustained against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9 have not fully recovered as he was nowhere to be seen in the 49ers' Friday practice.

The fact that Kittle has yet to practice this week is not a good sign that he can go on Monday. But in spite of Kittle missing practice, GM John Lynch shared his relief that the injury is not serious. He also thinks that he should be able to get back on his feet as he's one of the tougher men he knows in the team.

“Well, first and foremost, I just felt incredibly blessed for everybody that he was OK,” Lynch said Friday morning on KNBR, per Jessica Kleinschmidt. “I'm sitting there on [Thursday] night, and I've got the luxury of having a replay right over me. And as I saw that, I said, ‘Oh no.' I mean, that did not look good the way that knee hyperextended. And then next thing you know, Kittle is in there doing what he does — breaking loose and busting loose.”

Kittle has been an effective target for Jimmy Garoppolo. He made 541 passing yards and two touchdowns on 46 completions.

If Kittle can't play on Monday, the 49ers will turn to second-year player Ross Dwelley to step up at the tight end position.
