The San Francisco 49ers received some great news ahead of Week 4. Tight end George Kittle will be good to go, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan, per ESPN's Nick Wagoner.

The 49ers have been without Kittle since Week 1 after he took a brutal hit that resulted in a sprained MCL and bone bruise in his left knee. Kittle was one many players for the 49ers to find his way to the injury list in the early part of the 2020 NFL season, joining quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo amongst a few other great names.

Garoppolo went down in Week 2 along with Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas, and Raheem Mostert. Adding Kittle amongst the returns would be huge for the injury-riddled 49ers.

The 49ers have made due with so many players missing, however. They're riding a two-game winning streak with an overall record of 2-1 in a tightly contested NFC West Conference. Some of that success has been credited to stand-in quarterback Nick Mullens in Garoppolo's absence.

Mullens threw for 343 yards and one touchdown on Sunday against the New York Giants. The 49ers' backup gunslinger also completed 25 of 36 pass attempts to help seal the victory over the Giants.

Kittle, a Pro Bowler, is coming off a 2019 season in which he caught nearly 80 percent of his passes for 1,053 yards. He averaged nearly 10 receiving yards (9.8) as well.

The 49ers should look to make small work of a discombobulated Philadelphia Eagles group in Week 4. The group hasn't had nearly anything go right for them in virtually any department so far into the season. They currently are 0-2-1 after finishing in a tie with the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3.
