San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle has taken the league by storm the last couple of years. A fifth-round pick in 2017, Kittle has surpassed all expectations and established himself as one of the league's best tight ends.

He was recently named the 29th-best player overall in the NFL Top 100, and was a second-team All-Pro last year. Despite all his success, Kittle clearly hasn't forgotten where he came from. Kittle's old tight ends coach at Iowa, LeVar Woods, recently got a surprise package in the mail. Kittle sent him the jersey he wore in the Pro Bowl, per Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.

Kittle personalized the gift by writing a note on the jersey.

“Coach Woods, Thank you for helping me take advantage of every opportunity in my last two years of college. Without your guidance and friendship, I would not be where I am today. You helped me achieve one of my dreams. Always remember that you have an incredibly positive voice, and infectious personality. I wish we could have played together. You will always be an honorary tight end!”

Woods, clearly, was touched by Kittle's gesture, posting a photo of the jersey on Instagram with the accompanying caption.

“Found out [Kittle] was named to the NFL Top 100 this AM, then received this in the mail this afternoon. Thank you! It was great coaching you & I’m very proud of you! Keep working hard & remember you can be as good as you want to be.”

Kittle caught just six total passes in his first two years at Iowa, and then broke out once Woods became his position coach. He set a record for most yards ever by a tight end last year with 1,377. He did that while playing mostly with backup quarterbacks, so he could get even better in 2019 with a healthy Jimmy Garoppolo.
