The relationship between San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and tight end George Kittle has made them one of the most notable power couples in the NFL. However, it appears wide receiver Trent Taylor is not letting up on his bid to become the quarterback's running mate.

Kittle recently debuted a shirt that featured “Garoppolo/Kittle '20” on the front. Taylor took his teammate's advice on social media by adding his own personal touch to the shirt:

Taylor added that he is still Garoppolo's most trusted target in the passing game, via Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports:

“I'm still Jimmy's favorite target by far, no matter what George tells anyone else,” Taylor said. “That's why we got the shirt.”

There seems to be no shortage of 49ers pass-catchers vying for Garoppolo's attention in the locker room. Although Taylor may have boosted his efforts by one-upping Kittle with the shirt, it is safe to say that the latter may still have the edge.

The friendly showdown between teammates is indicative of just how respected Garoppolo is in the locker room. After all, there had been plenty of speculation regarding the 49ers' interest in alternative options under center after coming up short in the Super Bowl. Kittle was not shy about shooting down any rumors about the team moving on.

Taylor certainly has a ways to go if he hopes to solidify his claims of being Garoppolo's favorite target. He will be looking to bounce back in the 2020 NFL season after missing all of last year with a lingering foot injury.
