The NFL Network finally wrapped up its countdown of the league's top 100 players. To no surprise, the list came with its fair share of questionable rankings.

Among the more notable was Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey's doubts about San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garappolo's legitimacy. Ramsey clarified his comments during an appearance on the NFL Network.

“Jimmy is good, I said that but based off our game, only 1 Wr had more than 25 yards on us & most of that came off 1 catch for 24 yards,” Ramsey said. “[H]e used his FB & TE for big gains off play action & their running game was also good that game. That’s scheme!”

Ramsey's comments may come off as somewhat salty. However, there is still plenty of truth to them. As with many young, promising quarterbacks, the lack of film on them can often leave defenses at a disadvantage. That was certainly the case when the Garappolo threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another en route to scoring 44 points against the Jaguars. It should also be noted that the two squared off late in the 2017 campaign when Jacksonville already had three games worth of tape on him.

Regardless, Ramsey's comments are indicative of how a large portion of the NFL feels. There is no doubt that Garappolo's sample size is still too small to determine whether the hype is real or not. That said, he will have a chance to prove himself in the 2018 NFL season after teams have now had ample time to develop a game plan.
