San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will start in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams after taking part in a full week of practice.

Garoppolo, who returned to the 49ers' lineup in Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins, says his nagging ankle injury is feeling really good ahead of the team's NFC West clash with the rival Rams.

“It’s feeling great this week. It really is,” Jimmy Garoppolo said after practice on Friday, via Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.

“Made a lot of improvements, just that couple of extra days, I think, (to) consistently get better. Just one of those things, you got to keep working at it.”

Garoppolo was pulled in the 49ers' loss to the Dolphins after throwing two interceptions. The game was already over for San Francisco, so head coach Kyle Shanahan decided to play it safe with his franchise quarterback.

The 49ers, after getting all the way to the Super Bowl last season, are just 2-3 on the 2020 season thus far. They are under a lot of pressure to defeat the Rams, who are 4-1 and clicking on offense at the moment behind Jared Goff.

For the 49ers to upset the Rams, Garoppolo has to play like the guy we saw last season. If his ankle is indeed feeling better, Garoppolo needs to move around the pocket more and use his mobility to escape from a Rams' pass rush led by superstar Aaron Donald.
