San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo made his first appearance in a game on Monday night since tearing his ACL and it couldn't have gone any worse. Garoppolo went 1-for-6, throwing for zero yards and an interception. That type of effort was good enough to earn him the worst passer rating possible, 0.0.

Garoppolo has also struggled in practice and last week threw five interceptions in one day. There have been a lot of questions about how he will do during the regular season, especially with the way the last couple of weeks have gone, but it appears he isn't too concerned.

“Obviously a little frustrated but it’s the NFL,” Garoppolo said, via Jennifer Lee Chan of NBCSportsBayArea.com. “Unfortunately, we don’t get to play the whole game right now so I only get so many plays. You wish you could be out there for more so we could bounce back. But it is what it is. It’s preseason right now, so we just have to take it in stride.”

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan also tried to take away some positives from the performance.

“Yeah, of course,” Shanahan said. “He’s had a year off football, and before that he only played about eight games total. The more he can play, the better. I wish we could have kept him out there longer today but you risk everyone else too, so I had to get those guys out of there. . . .”

Even if they are saying the right things to the media, there has to be some concern, and a good third preseason game would really help the confidence around the team.
