Joey Bosa recently became the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL after signing a massive extension with the Los Angeles Chargers. While Joey has been nothing but consistent in his career thus far, he made a bold prediction for his brother Nick, who plays for the San Francisco 49ers.

Since being taken with the No. 3 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Chargers, Joey Bosa has cemented himself as one of the best edge rushers in the NFL. In his first four seasons, he's averaged 10 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, and 20 quarterback hits.

As a result, to reward him for his efforts, the Chargers made Joey Bosa the richest defensive player in NFL history.

Despite his recent contract, Joey Bosa believes his brother Nick could surpass his contract numbers in the coming years.

Similar to Joey Bosa, Nick Bosa was an early first-round selection by the 49ers in the 2019 NFL Draft. Both Bosa brothers attended Ohio State and were regarded as the best edge rushers in their respective draft classes.

Even with lofty expectations entering his rookie campaign, Nick Bosa exceeded them and was a dominant force for San Francisco's defense. The first-year defensive end would notch nine sacks, 16 tackles for loss, and 25 quarterback hits for the 49ers in 2019. Also, just like Joey Bosa, Nick would secure the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year Award last season.

Shortly after Myles Garrett became the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL, Joey's contract raised the bar shortly after. While Joey Bosa could remain the highest-paid defensive player for a short period, he believes his brother could be the one to create history in a few years.
