The San Francisco 49ers continue to have injuries pile up on the offensive side of the ball. Among them, running back Matt Breida, who was listed as doubtful, will not play versus the Arizona Cardinals, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

While Breida has been ruled out, Emmanuel Sanders will be able to suit up for the 49ers on Sunday. At the same time, George Kittle will miss his second consecutive game due to knee and ankle injuries.

Breida sustained a sprained ankle against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10. Before the injury, Breida had rushed for 542 yards on 109 attempts and one touchdown. The electric running back has also caught 16 passes for 110 yards and another score.

With Breida recovering from an injury, Tevin Coleman will undoubtedly continue to be the lead back in San Francisco's backfield. In addition, Raheem Mostert could see an increased role in the offense.

Along with Coleman and Mostert, Kyle Shanahan could deploy Jeff Wilson in short-yardage situations. That is assumed with Wilson having that role earlier in the season when Coleman was dealing with an injury.

The ankle injury that Breida is dealing with doesn't seem to be anything too severe. But there is a chance that he could miss the team's next game versus the Green Bay Packers as well.

The 49ers are atop the NFC West with an 8-1 record but only have a half-game lead over the Seahawks now. Therefore, any injuries that happen right now could cost San Francisco a chance of securing the division crown.
