The San Francisco 49ers already suffered a scare with wide receiver Marquise Goodwin after he briefly went down during practice. Unfortunately, it appears things did not cool off after the same happened to defensive end Nick Bosa.

According to ESPN's Nick Wagoner, Bosa had to be treated by the training staff for a potential leg injury:

Bosa was able to walk off the field under his own power.

Nick Bosa just got up after being down on the field for a few minutes. Trainers were attending to his lower right leg/ankle. He’s walking gingerly off the practice field with medical staff.

San Francisco was able to dodge a bullet with the injury to Goodwin not being deemed to be too severe, however, it remains to be seen whether or not the same can be said for Bosa. It is safe to say that the 49ers will be taking a cautious approach with whatever it is.

They made quite the investment by taking Bosa with the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The 49ers are hoping that he can provide an immediate solution to their pass-rushing woes that plagued them last season. Unfortunately, it seems they will now have to take every precaution they can to ensure he is ready for the 2019 NFL season.

San Francisco is certainly no stranger to the injury bug.

Although they find themselves in familiar territory with all the risks to their key players, head coach Matt LaFleur knows full well they have plenty of work to do if they hope to compete in the NFC West.
